Question about mechanic before I buy
I playtested the demo and the game is amazing apart from ONE thing that deeply annoyed me.

You get souls for every death at a boss basically removing the challenge over time as you over-level more and more.

Does this exist in the main game and if so, can i disable it?

Welp that's a deal breaker. wow
It does exist in the main game and outside of just not collecting the souls on your way back to the boss no. Not sure about over-leveling as I am 20 levels away from the level cap and I am easily two shot by some bosses in the late game.

If you are worried about difficulty, the game is quite difficult. And closer to level 100 you need way over 100 thousand of lacrima for a single level. Plus the amount dropped is proportional the how much HP you reduced. You are just not going to overlevel by dying to the bosses.

unless you farm him like i do for the set i like
i mean the amount you get from the bosses is very little compared to if you just farmed normal mobs and if you dont like the feature you can also just die again without picking them up and get reset to 0 souls
I just can't see how gaining lacrima and skill points can be an issue.

Yes, it is still in the game. No, you can not disable it. Deal with it or don't play the game.

This feature will become very quickly obsolete in terms of experience as you will much higher amounts to level up. It is nice to have if you struggle early.

It doesn't amount to "over leveling" in any way that actually makes a difference. You'd probably have to die thousands of times on a single fight to accrue enough that it'd make any noticeable difference.

The souls do nothing if you don't spend them to level up stats lol.

And even then, the stats actually do very little.

The main perk of levels is the gear brackets that drop, not the level up stats.
