Words of Advice if you're stuck on a boss.

My buddy and I have figured out a friendly way of dealing with bosses and the formula seems to work.

When you get on a new boss for the first time don't swing your weapon at it, some of these bosses are meant to bust your balls. Spend your first, second or hell even third time just dodging, blocking and getting used to the pace of the bosses. Even if they have a 2 or 3rd phase they will have a momentum they carry through the fight.

We started treating boss attack chains like a rhythm game since most of their attack chains will have a tempo to their attacks that you can use for dodging or brink guarding.

And for those struggling with burst counters like I was, go into training mode by talking with glasses girl and select the bear enemy and just dance with him for a bit, he tends to use burst attacks often and you can get the timing of your weapon down. I use greatsword so I want to use my burst counter the moment before an attack hits me. Most people get trapped or baited by the explanation the game gives you, so alot of people, myself included were hitting the burst counter as the symbol appeared.

Learning to counter attack a bosses light attack will disrupt chains and MASSIVELY drain their stamina bar. If you can consistently brink guard or dodge a bosses light attack you can counter it with the same timing. And the greatsword skill tree has skills that extend the window of your counter attack as to make it easier.

To those stuck on certain bosses, you can get through it, don't keep throwing yourself at a boss hoping you'll eventually brute force through it, because later on some bosses will road block you.

Last bit of advice, go onto the Khazan discord and start streaming your gameplay. You'll eventually have a group of people in there watching you or talking with you. I've had people nicely point out that I was doing something wrong and that's when someone recommended me to go into training to practice burst countering, and that's how I eventually beat Rangkus. And using their advice and my buddy's advice made the Maluca fight 6-7 tries as opposed to what it could have been.

I'll try this against the shield boss (not naming names for spoiler reasons), cus the problem with that boss is that its model is the same size as you, and it's hard to see the swings behind Khazan's thicc ass.
