Biggest tip anyone can have on this fight, is reflect in the first phase, he has a ton of openings if you do.
If you want to ask for specific nerfs, is there one particular move that comes out too fast to adapt to? Bad hit detection?
The boss has an insane amount of moves compared to most other bosses in other games so it will take longer to get it down.
Also parry the spears in the first phase cuz if you do there is no ground effect that you can randomly step into while comboing.
I hope there are enough people complaining and he get nerfed or I find a way to cheat or cheese him.
That fight is so ridiculously stupid that I don’t give a f if I’m cheating or not.
Pretty poor boss design!
Phase 3 is almost the same as phase 2 and you only have to brutal attack him 3 times.
Countering is very important; it drains most of his stamina -->brutal attack
Furthermore, it felt like he does a lot more brutal attacks in phase 3
After killing him the first time with consumables (3 spirit/rage to 50% health) i can relatively comfortably kill him quite fast (reflect into stunlock combo = phase done; done that with GS and later with DW, DW is much easier) -reflect either sword or wing attacks-
yw
The third phase is relatively easy. He usually uses many attacks that you can counter (red indicator) and he takes a lot of posture damage. If you can make it to phase 3 a few times it's just a matter of time.
His attacks are well telegraphed. If one attack keeps getting you, just adapt and learn to deal with it.
Using that delayed defelct attack can be a game changer in phase one. He has two attacks that are relatively easy to learn. (I forgot the name of that defelct skill) it's not the usual red indicated counter.
The second hit of his very first attack, with which he seems to start the fight pretty much 100 % is easy to deflect.
Also the second hit after he slams down, is easy to deflect.
In phase 2 are a few high risk / high reward attacks. For example when he slams the ground with the big AOE attack. If you stay in his face and dodge the attack you will get a lot of hits in. Also that attack whe he loads up the sword with glowing power (three hit combo) he is open after that attack a long time.
It's by far the best fight in the game imho.
here your cheese, but still need skills to pull off:

first of all, learn to reflect, this is what make you win + the counter
you can be in p3 with full potion
if you using dw, thats how i beated it >
get full fury
go in the stairs near the entrance and pop any elemental on your weapon, i used poison
use the vitality sphere and finaly pop phantom dance and gale doom from the bloodthirsty set
enter in the fight, reflect first attaque, full swift attack, go in the back, full switf attack until last second of brutal attack
congratz, the boss just lost 80% hp
do the last 20%
second phase, reapply phantom dance+gale doom and consumable if you want
deflect or block until you need to counter strike, from there same technique, full swift attack, go behind him with zephyr.
guard/brink guard et deflect if you feel confident, when he is down, dont brutal attack, just heal yourself up, prepare yourself and then brutal attack him to go in p3
in p3, either way you deflect and you do as p1 or you guard until you can counter strike, zephyr and full swift attack
thats all you need to know
i beated this guy (yesterday) for 1h30 of tries
good luck
also, reflect is not a cheese, it ask skill and has tigh window
can you not just change your stats by using a cheap item?
I can tell you that lacrima costs are absolutely out of control in NG+ when you get to item level 250. I bloe through 32m lacrima trying to roll 2 pieces of gear, a weapon and gloves, and I still had to use 3 Augments otherwise I would use all my lacrima as still did not have new item to wear.
