I genuinely hate the Ozma fight.
It's just tedious. The dude has 3 phases, and each one takes a while with him just flying away and making you chase him. Then you catch him and the camera gets ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up against an invisible wall or he flies straight up above you so you can only see his toes. The worst is the first phase. I hate the way human bosses behave with stamina in this game. The amount of times I'll brink guard into a damaging combo and watch their stamina start rising from like 2% instead of breaking WHILE I'm hitting them--mind you this was preceded by a brink guard, meaning no time was given to them--is infuriating.

Add to that him constantly throwing down AoEs that last for minutes and he seems to always want to stand in them so you risk getting hit with chaos even when he's not directly attacking you, and he spends so much time in the air that if you try to stay close you're always looking up while the ground is covered with lingering AoEs.

For me Ozma is all the worst parts of the game thrown into one and then also extended because he has 3 phases. Reese was such a fun fight. I wish they had ended it there.

Edit: Oh and I forgot, he's also immune to all status effect build ups. So not only does he have the most phases of any fight, he's also maybe the only one that you can't try to speed things up with some fire/poison/earth stuff. They really want you to just have to fight this dude for 10 minutes. If you die at minute 8, oh well, start over. It's so tedious.

ugh made it to phase 3 got him down to 1/4th health and died, im over this fight it feels more like "hard" difficulty than "normal". Even tried the Golden set combo and while i dish out more damage i cant even break free of phase one. Hats off to those who manage to get through but I dont think i will. Hismar was bad enough with the crappy camera angles, but to see this mistake repeated for the final boss, and how he just dawdles in the air like trokka its a very tedious and dog water fight. And what the heck is with not allowing to craft the best quality of gear until you beat the final boss, and even then being restricted to level 200, but not being able to level up your equipment past 147? its stupid as hell literally spits in the face of those who aren't hardcore level souls players.

"Not being able to level your gear passed 147" what? I have a 164 great sword O.o.
Sigh maybe i have to go and farm some equipment from the final mission then, but when i craft stuff its 147. Im level 200.

You're level 200... In NG? You know the final boss is only 134, right?

First playthrough havent beat ozma, not sure what your point is? Especially since the soft caps start at 30 of all places. Huzzah for diminishing returns.

How in the heck are you farming enough lacrima to get to 200? I'm up to chapter 10 in NG+ and am only level 172 lol. 2.6m lacrima gets me like 4 levels.

Go to bloodied sanctuary in the great temple (endgame) at the path to the chapel blade nexus, facing the way you came down below is one of those flying corrupter elites, just shoot her head with javelin, and wait for her to come up the stairs then hit twice, brutal attack. Rest at blade nexus rinse and repeat. 53k with bard set per kill.

You did that for that many levels? Why? You are so over leveled at this point that the final boss should be a joke to you. You get 50k for standard soldiers on NG+ O.o.

Because the levels dont make that much difference thats why. It'd be one thing if you could bring your gear upto lvl 200 the damage would make a world of difference. Just killed a dude in the chapel (final mission) and a piece of lvl 149 gear dropped. Did you get your 169 after you went into ng+?

I agree with OP. Don't get me wrong, this game has had some of the best nail biting fights I've ever had in a soulslike and really pushed me. I've done all the side missions, collected all the jars (warning: when you do there is a bug that will lock you our of the jar shop). This fight just feels too much. Maybe I'm just burned out...
the dragon is a ♥♥♥♥, you cant hit him and camera goes crazy, really bad boss

well i guess that answers that question, clearly 149 or if you level your gear to 148 and add a unique? to it you might get your gear to 150.
It's starting to feel like newer souls and soulslike games are just gonna be ♥♥♥♥ measuring contest between devs who could make the most annoying, frustrating, but "fair" boss fights with gazillion hp and longass combos :/

You have longass combos too. This isn't a classic souls game where you get one or two hits off and then retreat to wait again. You have to be a lot more aggressive and have to know your combos and setups.

Yeah but lets face it the gaming industry has been losing understanding of what makes a game "fun" for some time now.

Yeah, it's not fun anymore. It's just tedious. At this point I'm just forcing myself to finish this game. (This makes me want to replay Black Myth Wukong again, especially the final boss lol)

i don't blame you felt much the same, tried ozma for hours best attempt saw me get to phase 3 down to 1/4th of his health died. And just cringed. Sat around for a bit wondered what i should do, tried upgrading my gear found that there's a limit, leveled to 200 only to find that this did more or less nothing to aid me against ozma. Then read a comment someone was saying that true ending was originally intended for ng+ where limits were higher so i just said screw it bumped it down to easy and did it first try. No intention on playing ng+ at the moment as when i collected all the jars my jar shop doesn't work anymore. So ill wait for patch then ill come back and do it on normal i guess. In the mean time ive been enjoying AI Limit which is another souls like that has no difficulty setting and having fun with its simple combat.
