Difference potent blow & charged attack

Couldn't really find something that explains the difference between these two as they seem to be the same? Or what exactly am I misunderstanding

potent blow is your triangle/y moves. a charged attack is any attack that can be charged. greatsword can charge some swift attacks and skills so they are charged attacks but not potent blows. an attack can be both a potent blow and a charged attack
