How do I beat Maluca?
Phase 1 is a joke. But phase 2 is way, way, way too hard.

use the mimic

dodge his first strike, then get used to the timing. He literally flashes every time he is about to strike so that you can block it.
And use fire on your weapon, that will really burn his HP

All this user did was insult players and tell them to use Flash Cutter, a dual wield skill. My stats make dual wield trash-tier. Doesn't help in the slightest.

If you're using spear phantom heatwave skills and moon stance are you're friend. for great sword probably counter attack and charged attacks on downtime. i only touched a bit of great sword. Do not be afraid to use the spirit regen items. use element enhancements for just a little bit more dps. have chaos status heals on the hotbar. be a little less agressive phase 2 or you will get clapped.

Try to learn the timings to either dodge or parry his moves when he uses the katana. He switches to the dual greatswords if his health gets low, thats when he gets a lot easier again. Also stack up on chaos potions. Helped me a lot. Basically just keep trying, you get him eventually.

Straight up Phase 2 is a joke as well.

If he uses his Katana focus more on running from him than fighting him when he does his anime flash vergil ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ don't parry it dodge then parry the follow up strike. Sometimes he will do it once other times he will do it 3 times.

After he does it once he will usually sheathe again and then just chase you don't play his game run like a little ♥♥♥♥♥ he'll flip twice and by the time he attacks if you've kept running you'll be out of his range.

If he does the flash more than once follow these directions exactly as i say.

Dodge the first flash, parry the follow up, dodge the second flash, parry the follow-up, on the final flash parry it and he will stun being vulnerable to the follow up.

The only time you should not be running from him or dodging in katana mode is during the triple flash parry and when he jumps back and does the giant separator ground slash thing don't run from this after the ground slash because he will rush the ever loving ♥♥♥♥ out of you and you can't outrun him. Luckily it doesn't do a damn thing to your stance so you can block the vast majority of it worry free.

Follow this to the T and you'll beat him I beat him on my 5th try he's actually a joke in the second phase too he's just flashy to scare you.

Lastly he will go into a sword mode like his first phase after a while but he won't be able to be stunned and he will do extra jumps during any of his jump attacks.

Phase 2 Maluca with the Katana is that whenever he sheathes it with the purple power up he will immediately attack. Getting used to that helps a lot. The other part is waiting out the phase until he switches back to berserker swords.

Berserker phase is slower than katana phase.

i wanted to farm for his set and eventually got him to a consistent 2 minute kill, but i only know how to do it with a greatsword. i haven o idea if my methods of dealing with his moves work with other weapons because i haven't touched them.

counterstrike (CS) is GS's spirit parry and armor breaker (AB) is GS's parry followup.

his first couple of moves in phase 2 are always the same:
1. he jumps up in the air, slams down, and explodes. i CS the slamdown, AB and then spam dodge to get out of the explosion.
2. he will slow time and iai slash to you. as soon as time starts slowing down, dodge.
3. he will do one slash, then back off to prep a flurry. i CS, AB then back off to get ready to parry the flurry. on the second to last hit, i squeeze in an AB and then CS/AB the last hit. his stamina should break here, but i mess up sometimes and fail.
4. he will walk around with his guard up, then either go in for a three hit combo or his leap grab attack. parry the three hit or dodge the grab attack.
5. he will do three iai slashes. wait for a split second after the flash to get a perfect parry. he will also always do one slash after each iai.

his moves start changing after this, and you kind of just have to feel him out. one very important move to watch out for if you're playing greatsword is when he starts spamming the ranged thrust moves. with good timing, you can CS/AB each one and pretty much guarantee break him.

Parry his ungabunga jump attack at the start for free damage, dodge his Vergil slice, parry the follow-up swing. Parry all nine hits of his combo, punish. Any time he goes anime parry it if the parry doesn't cause recoil parry the follow-up swing. If he is holding his sword and sheathe up just chill until he attacks. If he pulls out the great swords again proceed to abuse him. Rinse repeat.

And yet FLASH CUTTA killed Maluca while you're off getting filtered. Sounds like whatever you're doing right now is "trash-tier."
No one seems to have called out the thing that won the fight for me.

The Katana parrying window is shockingly easy once you realize it, and it's identical for all his attacks that follow this pattern.

When he sheaths his sword, just watch the sword go into the sheath. As soon as it closes, you parry 1 second later. SHEEEEEEETH CLICK-->1 Beat-->Parry.

He does like 8 different attacks in that phase, all of which start with that sheath in the same exact way. When you parry that, not only does it block it, but it actually staggers him slightly, and you can just beat the crap out of him.

After you see it, it feels ridiculous how easy it is. No watching complicated maneuvers, no judging individual attacks trying to get the timing right, just sheath click parry. It's literally 80% of his attacks in that phase.

Good luck!
