Even Dark souls 3 peak was 130k, though all things considered 9 years ago was an entirely different environment. Dark souls 3 would have near Elden ring numbers if it came out today.
Words of mouth also goes a long way.
FromSoftware fans will always play the new games, and they will convince some friends to play, higher twitch count and brand recognition drag in big name Content creators that then bring in more exposure and players and on and on.
I guess I over-appreciated the pull Souls like games bring in. Before Dark souls 3, none of them really got any REAL big PC numbers. Elden Ring was just sort of a one hit wonder (Which is odd since I enjoyed Sekiro and Dark Souls 3 far more).
Even lies of P had less players than Khazan, so I suppose they are doing fairly well.
Weeb games do sell. It's just a matter of all the ai created slope thats been flooding the stab games lately.
