The .0000001% of people will play without getting hit but the other 99.99999% of us will want some gear
This is objectively false.
The level increases the randomized attributes, like the post states. This includes such stats as Reduces incoming DMG % which is significant. It also affects DMG mods, making the fight go faster if you're doing significantly more damage.
I'm not sure why you're arguing the post - I never said play good or bad, I simply said levels directly influence player power in ways beyond just the stats themselves. You're making a weird straw man out of this.
It's not an argument, it's a fact - people complain that leveling up isn't enough of a power boost because of diminishing returns on stats. I'm simply saying there's a lot more to it than that and levels are the single strongest way to increase your overall power beyond just stats as it has a direct impact on the maximum margins of your gear's strength.
trying to figure out if phantom needs to be present on the killing attempt to lose the achivement or is summoning it once to see what it does is already enough.
as to OP: from what i understand phantoms of adversity always drop current level gear. i farmed level 75 gear outside of xaldin door in the nameless cavern. i went back there for 78 and again just yesterday for 81, while the area itself is recommended for 58.
