The First Berserker: Khazan

The First Berserker: Khazan

Statistiken ansehen:
Game is a reskinned Nioh 2 / Wo Long
Did anyone spot any differences? I can't think of anything besides the art style and setting/characters.

Low, mid, high stances? Various weapons? Magic? Ki pulse mechanic? soul cores? These games share some design decisions (mission based, bad level design etc...) but outside of those its nothing like nioh. Idk why people are saying this.
If you're only looking at Nioh the only real difference is the stances, but they replaced them with the deflect system from Wo Long.

Can you name one gameplay mechanic or design choice in Khazan that's not lifted from Nioh or Wo Long?
This game is far from Wo Long lol. The only similarity to Wo Long is the mission system and the collectables in each mission.
this game is 10x better than both nioh games combined + wo long.

Yea you can tell that at least somebody in charge was also involved with nioh. They literally copied everything down to the story. Kind of insane but then again nioh was super good, it just failed cuz they made the game hard and convoluted in all the wrong places instead of trying to make a game with high depth accessible.

They didn't manage to change any of that for this game either, it's the same convoluted BS, at least there are ingame tooltips telling you what stats on items do now. But yea the issue of nioh was that the game was too hard from both your side and the enemy side to an unreasonable degree.
Such a shame tbh, it would be so easy to make a nioh 3 game that has Elden Ring level of success or goes even harder, but for some reason they just refuse to do that.
It plays nothing like wo long.
The more that I play the more that it feels that this was either made by Nioh/Wo Long devs that left the studio or they're just straight up copying.

*Everything* in this game is copied from Nioh, Wo Long and SoP except the characters and setting...

Every gameplay mechanic, the level design, the hub, the NPCs, the loot, the leveling system, the enemy design and AI. etc.

I don't even know how people are giving them a pass on this.
nioh 2 and wo long are my favorite games, so the similarities here are very welcome though the game plays differently than those 2.

Oh well, this game is better.
Combat is closer to Sekiro with it's multiple ways to counter attack.

Exploration, mission structure and looting is similar to Nioh. Though I am thankful they don't drop as much junk loot as Nioh, I really hated the constant inventory management in that game.
Combat is far more fluid. I love Nioh to death for what it is and i think it's combat is really good, but I think the combat specifically is miles better in here.

That being said, don't really care if they're similar. I love Nioh so I love this game. I don't see why you feel the need to somehow defend Niohs honor? Can there only be one game franchise in a certain franchise or else it's a reskin of x or y game?

Such a weird take.

Combat in nioh 1 was better then in nioh 2, in nioh 2 they introduced so many new things that you don't have to worry about stamina anymore and it became a button mashing game
