Droprate Chaos Fragment?
I thought Chaos Fragment would be a boss drop from Maluca, really want to get that Chaos-Ridden armour set. But after 7 fights there still hasn't dropped a single one.

Am I fighting the wrong boss or am I missing something else? I know down the line you can buy some from Danjin. But I wanted to farm the boss for mats...

his set is good because of the skill you get by wearing the entire set and adding an extra charge level to potent blows.

i stacked both dmg and dmg multplier too but have no damn clue what damage multiplier does. i just took it because i assumed it would increase the attack power of things like charge attacks.
I've used Chaos-Ridden ever since I could farm the materials. But I have also crafted Blood Fiend, for the few bossfights where brinkguarding is (almost) impossible or no good because of status ailments or the type of attacks the boss does.
theres one set i want but it seems to be gotten in the capital area. i forgot what its called but it has really good passives for greatsword.

oh i looked its called the fleshripper set and it increases charge attack damage by 15%

My high grade item drop rate is at 20% , I just farmed him for about 1 hour (3 min per run) and got ZERO chaos fragments...
Can anyone confirm that you can still drop them from killing Maluca after patch
I got 4 fragments after patch. It just took few hours. I'm so glad I had required weapon and gloves earlier.

You can get 6 of each boss materials (except eye of chaos) thanks to missions and loots. Exploring and finding Orange Loot on ground is what you aim when farming fail.
NGL I cheat to farm drops then give myself more once it finally drops. The jar merchant needs to just let you buy boss mats after beating a boss instead of requiring a certain undisclosed number of jarlings to be collected.

It is an entirely single player game, no reason for this level of grinding in this style of game. The bosses are hard enough to beat once in most cases, ain't no way I want to grind some of the harder fights like Macula for a CHANCE at the crafting material. Again this is a single player game, subsequent re-fights should be a 100% chance otherwise it is cheap playtime inflation.

That or, you know, the bosses should just drop their set more frequently so you don't need to craft the set. At least once you have the set you can just keep upgrading it to your gear level.

even maluca is easy to farm if you are over leveled and besides fleshripper set seems to be better for greatsword.

it increases charge attack damage by 15%.
I farmed out this set yesterday. Got 3 chaos fragment drops, which I used on head, weapon and chest. The other pieces I got from simply killing the boss. Took about 8 or 9 kills total including my original first kill.

I haven't gotten to the fleshripper set yet, but I find Volcanic Strike from chaos-ridden is pretty juiced. Deleted Shaktuca in 2 staggers with it.

How many is "a few"? Lol cause I've spent more than 2 hours , takes my around 3 min to beat him, so I would say 15 runs per hour, that's 30 in 2 hours non stop and nothing... Im willing to try for another hour or two tomorrow, if I get nothing I'm just gonna use a mod to unlock it tbh , I usually never do stuff like that but I'm just loosing my time when I could be doing some actually meaningful or enjoyable lol

Farm it with the Bard set (you only need 3 pieces to get the increased item drop rate) it helps alot.

any update on this? Is this the only way to farm and its been nerfed? I can't find any other info on it
I have no idea where people are getting the "nerfed" from, there was nothing in patchnotes regarding boss drops or item drops in general.

That aside, you just need to kill Maluca until it drops. But it definitely won't be guaranteed to drop every fight. Otherwise you need to collect 27 Jarlings for Danjin and then you can buy some Chaos Fragments in his Shop.
just made 27 jalings went to shop and no chaos fragments there
wtf ((
have 3 parts hoped for complete set

This is so frustrating. I wasted two fragments crafting Epic pieces - as I didn't realize I should have waited. I have 4 low level rare pieces of the set that dropped in the world. Now I farmed him about 10 times and zero chaos fragments.

EDIT: started wearing 3 pieces of Bard, and two Chaos Fragments dropped immediately!

Devs original announcement said:

1. Increased Drop Rates for Set Equipment Materials
Our original intention was for players to complete a set from defeating the boss five times and making purchases from Danjin. However, due to the design, which makes it hard to meet the Danjin conditions in the early stages of gameplay, obtaining materials was more tiring than we expected. Thus, we’re significantly increasing material drop rates from bosses.

But it isn't mentioned anywhere in the new patch notes. So I guess they didn't manage to implement this in this first patch? Sad news but at least we know it's coming.

They're pumping out pretty good updates imo, in today's patch they already fixed Danjin's bug for when you collected all 44 jarlings. No dumb nerfs, just tweaks and improvements.
I have figured out the trick to guarantee yourselves epic material drops. You must load a new area to reset current area progression and reload back to desired target. It will set to a first encounter battle, and the drops should be guaranteed if not at least increased. Hope this helps!!

this is probably cope and wrong. every time you beat the boss you are resetting the area. I would be shocked to hear that 1 trying bosses just gurantee crafting.
