150 is Max Level
soon mod to unlock the limit
Maybe since you can fight the bosses again and again they were not expecting people to want unlimited NG cycles and maxing their characters? I wonder.

The soft cap for stats in this game is 40. leveling anything past 40 is just not worth it.

vitality for example goes from giving you 50 health per level to 10 lol.
im level 200 and havent finish the game yet but it doesnt let me level up more
@guido
As always minmaxing will be a thing, and even when you get less life points after 40 with certaint stats, the damage will be always +2 with C scaling and +3 wich B scaling weapons.
So for a no hiter there is no much penalty with those soft caps, you can feel your lower bonuses with gear, like 1 point in vigor will give 50hp, but a single pice can give you 90.
Obviosly this is not optimal, since is better get vigor and damage stats in gear xD but early when you dont have many points, if u are lacking on max stamian you can reroll affixes to get some. (indeed the stamina issue is more notable than vigor, i will say that vigor is a must since is the best hp boost and almost the only ressistances buff. For stamina 1 point is 15 but a gear piece can give you over 50 in one single piece.)

i heard you get only 10 but i do a balanced stat distribution. this game is kinda like nioh where every stat matters.

its not like dark souls or elden ring where one will focus on vigor, endurance and strength or dexterity.

only one stat increases stamina damage and only one stat decreases how much stamina damage you take when blocking.

it might seem better to put all your points in endurence but not really. theres max stamina and then theres effective max stamina. effective max stamina is how much of it you use for various actions.

its the same principle with defense where reducing the amount of damage you take increases effective health.

but people just look at the wow bigger numbers and assume they are stronger lol.

it really comes down to playstyle. i personally level strength to 99 before i put a single point anywhere else. then 30 into stamina and finished with vit. had no problem getting the true ending on normal w/out ever summoning. but then again i play a hyper aggressive style so this worked out for me. one consideration, especially for vitality, and this is true for almost all souls games, it's more or less pointless to raise your health above what an estus gives you. if it's percentage based health becomes more important, otherwise it's a throwaway stat.

the thing is health regained in this game looks to be percentage based and you are 100% right about having more health than what your estus flask can heal is a waste.

there are talismans though that increases the amount healed so they are probably more worth it than what the community gives them credit for and they even come in +2 variants and are unaffected by pvp debuffs.

easily an S teir talisman even though most of the community never uses it.

yea in this game they do. but they dont in elden ring. i thought i made that clear.

max heal in elden ring with health flasks at +14 is 810. in this game flasks seem to scale with how much max health you have.

I too am level 200 but doesnt let me upgrade my stats nor have I beat the game yet. Even though its telling me I have x number of points left too upgrade with the given amount of lacrima needed. I think this could be a bug. I dont believe this could be a progression mechanic because I would imagine if it were, the game would tell you you'd need to invest in x amount of points into your stats (and maybe even beat a certain boss) to further increase your level cap. Which is something we dont have in the game.
Or maybe its just a progression blocker until you hit NG+

I get that you Wemodders want free levels but it's unnatural to be anywhere close to 200 before beating the game, they probably put that in there to limit the power creep before fighting the last boss.
yeah i can level up past 150. not sure how high as i'm spending most my lacrima rerolling my gear attributes
