vitality for example goes from giving you 50 health per level to 10 lol.
As always minmaxing will be a thing, and even when you get less life points after 40 with certaint stats, the damage will be always +2 with C scaling and +3 wich B scaling weapons.
So for a no hiter there is no much penalty with those soft caps, you can feel your lower bonuses with gear, like 1 point in vigor will give 50hp, but a single pice can give you 90.
Obviosly this is not optimal, since is better get vigor and damage stats in gear xD but early when you dont have many points, if u are lacking on max stamian you can reroll affixes to get some. (indeed the stamina issue is more notable than vigor, i will say that vigor is a must since is the best hp boost and almost the only ressistances buff. For stamina 1 point is 15 but a gear piece can give you over 50 in one single piece.)
this is not true, i have 44 vit and i am getting plus 40 every time.
its not like dark souls or elden ring where one will focus on vigor, endurance and strength or dexterity.
only one stat increases stamina damage and only one stat decreases how much stamina damage you take when blocking.
it might seem better to put all your points in endurence but not really. theres max stamina and then theres effective max stamina. effective max stamina is how much of it you use for various actions.
its the same principle with defense where reducing the amount of damage you take increases effective health.
but people just look at the wow bigger numbers and assume they are stronger lol.
it really comes down to playstyle. i personally level strength to 99 before i put a single point anywhere else. then 30 into stamina and finished with vit. had no problem getting the true ending on normal w/out ever summoning. but then again i play a hyper aggressive style so this worked out for me. one consideration, especially for vitality, and this is true for almost all souls games, it's more or less pointless to raise your health above what an estus gives you. if it's percentage based health becomes more important, otherwise it's a throwaway stat.
there are talismans though that increases the amount healed so they are probably more worth it than what the community gives them credit for and they even come in +2 variants and are unaffected by pvp debuffs.
easily an S teir talisman even though most of the community never uses it.
Flask heals a % of your HP
max heal in elden ring with health flasks at +14 is 810. in this game flasks seem to scale with how much max health you have.
I get that you Wemodders want free levels but it's unnatural to be anywhere close to 200 before beating the game, they probably put that in there to limit the power creep before fighting the last boss.
