crashing in 5 seconds everytime. nothing i tried worked and i tried all the usual bs
Shutting my comp down
I've downgraded to 366.36 Nvidia drivers
Forced -dx11
Compatibility Mode / Run as Admin
Forced GPU as Default
Deleted sl.pcl.dll
Verified / Reinstalled the game.
Even got it on my SSD
I mean, my powersupply is a 600BQ EVGA; plannin' on goin' a little higher later on, but other than that my machine meets the minimum requirements, easy.
Soon as I hit play, Steam asks if I'd like to run it (Which is normal for me), then BAM. Black screen, PC says its restarting, and you guessed it, restarts. It isn't overheating, there's no fan speed-up.
I don't even get into the game at all. I've never had this sort of thing happen before. Crash? Sure. But the comp fully restarting? This is a first.
Totally get day 1 game shenanigans, I can wait. Just wish I could PLAY it, you know? :D
So I've got the game to run for a little bit; haven't had a crash and I'm still in Chapter 1.
Here's what I've got going so far.
Overlays from Discord and Steam are disabled
Running -dx11
Up-to-date Drivers; Nvidia
Compatibility Mode: Windows 8
Disabled Fullscreen Optimizations
Run via the actual EXE, not Steam
Launch with Admin
So far my gameplay has been buttery-smooth. Haven't mucked with any other settings in-game, but trying to launch through Steam still tries to make my PC restart.
Temps are normal. No scary noises.
Fingers crossed?
Hope this helps!
Will try this when i get home! Nothing worse than being excited for a new game and it won't even launch, fingers crossed! Also thanks for replying and letting us know, you might be our savior
Still havent got the game working, specifically when i use compatibility mode it gives me a pop-up saying i need atleast Windows 10 22H2 for it to run, and then it immediately closes down again. Going to update to Windows 11 as my last hail mary.
I run Windows 11 and I still get that pop-up, but it still runs. I also made sure that I got the latest Windows update as well.
Did you disable Fullscreen optimizations in the Exe's properties?
Yep, did all the steps and i give up lol. Hope this will get fixed soon.
Thanks. I did all that so I could launch the game and compile shaders. Played for a little bit before closing.
Then I reverted all settings back to standard, and the game is launching fine (for now at least).
Checking the logfile in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\BBQ\Saved\Logs" showed some errors trying to load OpenXR extensions...
I uninstalled OpenXR toolkit and now the game boots for me.
Hope this helps someone
Dude, you are the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GOAT it works now finally
