If something takes you hours to beat, it's not hard, it's broken.. If you've played these games before it shouldn't take you hours ever. The souls like genre is not hard, it's not challenging, it's not 2015 when DS1 became popular and they had no idea what the game is. if you've finished Elden Ring, if you've finished any of the DS games, you shouldn't be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around on a boss, for an hour let alone hourS.. First time ive played Elden Ring it took me like 15 tries to kill the Bloodhound Darriwil, years later booting up the game again i was suprised to have killed it on first try, everything else the same. The fundemental understanding that comes with playing these games, should make playing them all easy, you've seen one, you seen it all.
I'm going thru AC6 and albeit it's not a Souls like i'd argue it's more challenging then any souls like simply because you don't have EyeFrames, and it's not an RPG where you overlevel and stack buffs. I've one shotted every boss, i died once on Ibis and died two times on snail, only because my build is good and has a point to it and i'm playing the game right. There are people with random ass builds not understanding how their AC works that die for hours on a boss. The bosses are all easy if you know what you're doing, they're hard if you don't. These games are made to be fun, not for you to replace your lack of real life achievements with a game being stupidly punishing. Good on them to prioritise fun.
It should go 1-2-10-10-10-10-10-10 if anything.
There is an easy mode option for people who can't do it and ruining the fun for people who actually want hard fights is just total nonsense tbh.
It took me over an hour to take down Maluca due to his Vergil mode but it felt so rewarding.
I hate Elden Ring for introducing so many scrubs to the soulslike genre who refuse to git gud and instead want nerfs bc if they can't do it nobody should!
I saw some of the highest praise for this game from reviewers and I can imagine it is from the adrenaline rush they get from overcoming the challenge. I suggest re-Balancing Easy and rename it Normal. Normal should be hard and if you want, add story mode as well for those that will struggle still. Difficulty settings is not a bad thing but making normal difficulty extreme even for souls-like will lead to massive outcry.
The Devs have already done a great job balancing the game on the highest difficulty which most games do not do. No need to dampen the experience with unnecessary nerfs.
Wo Long nerfed the game after the demo as there was serious outcry on parry timing and difficulty and that game became soulless in the final release.
Not all of us made bad decisions like yourself and are stuck in dead end jobs with no time to spend on yourself. Dude then follows up with AC6 as a comparison in difficulty, lmao. Bad decisions seem to be a thing you are known for.
Who cares. If you beat them before the patch, you're still cool and your mom will always love you.
But for those who cant beat him after.. then.. You're just outing yourself as the worst gamer
Thats not how the default game was meant to be played tho. You are adding nonsensical restriction to yourself to make up for the fact that garbage players were too ashamed to click easy mode.
True
Souls likes are RPGs. what happens in a RPG when you indulge it's systems ?
Souls like games never been a challange, the challange was to out math the dmg numbers of the enemies. AC6 is the PERFECT example of difficulty where all you can do is min max pre set attributes and find your own balance and playstyle within the system instead of eventually breaking it. It was true in all DS games, it only became even truer in Elden Ring.
Me bringing up AC6, was for a very good reason. This Difficulty discussion is nothing but loser talk.
