imo story is just a set dressing for gameplay. I have near 20hrs in this game and the story/characters are your typical anime style of writing.

I honestly was expecting more interesting story telling but its very basic and not interesting give the very nice artstyle.

It has a story but apparently the writing is nothing to write home about.
It's based on the Berserker class of the Dungeon Fighter Online game, so the writing is performative at best. Don't expect Final Fantasy.

The writing is especially cliche and typical anime and imo it detracts from the amazing artstyle the game has.
