Gets a LOT easier in mastery 36, the window opens up insanely wide.
I played the demo, it seemed pretty reactionary to me. What I'm asking for anyways, is if someone has taken the time to measure exactly how many parry frames we get. Sekiro, for example, has 12 active parry frames at 60fps.
There is brink guard
There is reflect
There is counter
All of these mechanics could be referred to as parries. Please use the correct term so we know which one you are asking about.
haven't even played the game beyond the demo, so how was I to know. If you don't know, you can just say you don't know
Reflect is parry in dark souls sense.
Technically, Howling Blade calls its defensive function a "parry," although it really doesn't work anything like one.
It's perfectly functional at the least - and entertained me for a good 100 hours by now, which another AAA parry soulslike in Lies of P did not manage to do for equal amounts of time.
I have since learned and pointed this out. The copy pasta at this point is
The game has
Parries
Reflect
Counterattack
Brink guard
Counterstrike(greatsword skill)
Counterstrike( armor skill)
Counterstrike keyword on a skill(flash cutter)
Reflect as a skill property that is completely unmentioned(counter strike slam)
Damage nullification(shadow strike illusion)
Brink dodge attack frames(furious swipe)
All these things(except the armor skill which is only here to show how ridiculous the games terminology is) could be considered parries.
At this point I’m almost certain there is more with even more additional in-game terminology
