Why do they always need to have poison/swamp areas...
It's so annoying man, these souls-likes always need to have their poison (or whatever Damage over Time debuff) swamp-y areas. Least fun area to play through by a mile imo, definitely adds absolutely nothing as I see it in terms of actual difficulty. Just straight annoying.

Already don't look forward to going through it again on NG+ cycles and when I do other weapon runs.

it's a tradition at this point, and slightly nostalgic

plus compared to having 5 frames while in blight town (original DS1), and getting ganked while attempting to dodge roll, only to get smacked by a club in swamp of sorrows (demons souls), they're all a walk in the park.

That whole map is fking hell... but the boss is very easy, easier than the elite before it...

Another upside, at least for later runs too, is that you can blitz through no problem as long as you don't need to collect items. Pop a stamina recovery thing and you can sprint to the next checkpoint without issue.

Those big bats have no chill lmao. The boss was pretty fun though! I also like how you destroy the front legs with enough damage.

true. too bad you can't just skip their version of Sen's Fortress. I'll never get used to traps + platforming in a souls game.

Bruh, they even have poison/swamp areas in ARPGs. It's never ending.

Platforming in games with the movement of souls-likes should be illegal. Unless you're bringing Titanfall (gone too soon) levels of movement, please don't let me platform x)
It's not just Souls-likes either. I've never played a "swamp" map in any type of game that wasn't just annoying and not fun. I think the next evolution of swamp maps will be where somebody just stands behind you IRL and pokes you in the back with a stick saying "hey. hey. hey." the entire time you are on that level.
