Daphrona's Codex Misinformation (possible spoilers)

There's been a few of these that i've not gotten, despite fulfilling the requisite conditions. And yes, before you ask these are done in map. I haven't made a list of them yet, however it's one of the things I plan on finishing before going into NG+ so I decided to start a list right now, beginning with one i just encountered. If anyone wants to contribute I can edit my original post so it reflects the changes

1) Saint of Sin
*Defeat a fallen saint of sin.
-knock her to the ground with javelin then kill her while she's grounded.

2) Knivesveil Executioner
*Defeat a *Ruthless* Executioner without taking damage
-the actual means to achieve conditions hasn't been discovered

**If you're having problems completing the training, your best bet is to return to the main menu and reload your game. Apparently you have to achieve some of them the first time they're encountered. Right now the best workaround is simply reloading back into your game

Still doesn't work. The only YT video I saw that showed the bonus reward successful he had a perfect brink guard sequence. No normal guards and no dodges. Can you confirm? Because I've restarted the whole game, not just the main menu and still the only damage I did was brutal attacks but I would often miss the brink guard and have normal guards in the sequence...

I definitely used dodges and normal guards as well. As long as the only source of damage the spider is taking is from your brick guarding and finishers (brutal attacks) you should be fine. Yes I had the skill that makes it so my brick guarding does damage and I had no issues outside of needing to exit to the main menu if I failed on the first try.

No idea then, sry. But just to make sure, you are doing it on the right spider right?

I solved it!

I was using the Fallen Guardian Set which adds fire damage on brink guard and that was most likely adding to the brutal attacks. The second I changed armor sets I got it!

I just got the Ruthless Executioner challenge by defeating the Elite Knivesveil Executioner you encounter in the mission Pavel's Final Words. Had to hit "reset mission" in the accessibility options a couple times to get it. I also completed the Ruthless Outlaw by defeating the Elite in an earlier mission. I think it's safe to say when the game says "ruthless" it means "elite".
