Again though, that is a player made term. So call it dark siders if you like?
Respawning enemys when dying.
You lose your level up resurces if you die twice without collecting them.
Very hard Bosses.
Checkpoint system without saves between.
You can level up several stats.
Looks pretty soulslike to me little rage baiter.
But i also agree it has a touch of Dark siders. Especially the art style.
Ah yes, intentionally posting ♥♥♥♥ takes on the Steam forums, the wisest use of time anyone can make. I'm a genius.
The enemies aren't any more challenging than enemies in Darksiders or other action RPG's. They didn't handle fighting multiple enemies very well, and that's where a lot of the difficulty comes from.
The level design isn't punishing, like, at all, and instead relies on gimmicks that can only get you once. Like the worms, or the platforms that break, resulting in insta death. They'll get you 1 time, and that's it.
The bosses are NOT very hard. You can pretty much avoid all the dmg a boss has to throw at you using their extremely forgiving parry and dodge windows.
Demon Souls wasn't even remotely close to being the first game to introduce checkpoints rather than allowing the player to save.
You can level up several stats? You mean just like you can in about every RPG ever?
As for respawning enemies and losing sh*t when you die? Losing progress? That's a rogue-lite game mechanic buddy.
No, souls-like is a player made term to describe games with the following. "ermergerd, game has bosses and is hard! Oh! and I have a dodge button!" They throw the term at so many games it's unreal. When the reality is that a souls-like is a game that actively emulates a Souls game experience, but with their own twist. Like Remnant, or Nioh, or Lies of P. Khazan just doesn't do that outside the very bonfirey checkpoints and resetting enemies.
Don't get me wrong, I love this game. I just think it's unfair to put souls-like anywhere near it when it plays nothing like a souls-like. You're better off calling Elden Ring an edgy Zelda ripoff, as that's more accurate than calling Khazan a souls-like.
and yes it incorporates all the soulslike criteria so its a soulslike, doesnt matter that each single mechanic is in other games, what matters is that all of them are in a single game at once.
saying that it plays nothing like a soulslike even though it exactly plays like a soulslike is just you lying. bait used to be believable. take care. idiot.
Stop lying lol. Ain't no way someone that played any of the Darksiders games, played Khazan and was like, "Nah, I don't see the resemblance."
Imagine not having your online stuff set to private like some boomer. I'll never understand the obsession you people have with having someone else's personal information and how not having somehow justifies something. You want photos of my kids and my SSN while you're at it?
Dude they have Final Fantasy games tagged with Souls-like, it's f*cking insane. They have Hades tagged as a Souls-like. Like, wat?
That's how you know that the ONLY determining factor is that the game is "hard", has bosses, and has a f*cking dodge button. That's ALL a game needs to get the Souls-like tag. Like, is someone with even 2 brain cells to rub together going to sit here and tell me Hades even distantly resembles a souls game? No, because it's a classic, top down ARPG built like a rogue-lite. Like I said, absolute clowns, the lot of them.
Nah man, it has a skill tree and you have an inner demon. It's clearly a DMC-like.
it's a Nioh-Like at it's core with heavy heavy influence from character action games HARD AGREE.
But at its core it's a nioh like with the stamina management and the burst counters. But it has flashy cooldowns on top of that.
