Constant stuttering: Full game
My game keeps stuttering. It's not even micro stutters but full on stutters that could last even for a whole second. The most frequent time that it happens is during flashy boss attacks. It's unplayable... This is the 1st game i've pre-ordered since the mess that was Starfield only to get yet another unplayable game. The demo had stuttering to but they were mostly micro stutters but the overall experience was so good that I thought that i'd break my rule and pre-order the game.....

I'm on the latest NVIDIA driver - 572.83. I have a 3070ti and Rz 5600x.

Idk whether it is the drivers or something else but I've already capped my FPS to 90 when it can go up to 116ish uncapped. I'm going to roll back my driver and see if that helps

116 cap sounds like GSync so that sounds right. Dunno about the stuttering though, game runs well here on a 4070ti.

Devs did suggest version 566.36 for Nvidia 40 series and earlier. Give that a try

Try DX11 for the micro stutters.

What driver version are you on tho?

Just did a full blown wipe (uninstall and clean using DDU) of my NVIDIA drivers and installed version 566.36 and it's still stuttering. I'm gonna give up and wait until they fix this man but knowing Unreal Engine games they never get fixed. FFS i'm so pissed

Seems like a ton of games are having this issue at launch on any GPUs that aren't 4000 series and up.

If you haven't yet, try switching it to DX11.

Can confirm that switching back to DX11 has pretty much eliminated 80% of the stuttering. It's pretty much the same level of stuttering as the demo. Huge difference but still unacceptable.

That being said I find this state to be playable.

The demo doesn't pre-compile shaders at the start, so it stutters frequently while compiling them during gameplay. I assume the full game has the same problem, so I'll be skipping this one.
Linux + AMD = 0 stutter

Full game compiles shaders at start if you're on DX12, I don't recall it doing it on DX11 which is what it launched with by default for me.

Seems to just not like cards without a ton of VRAM on DX12.

If that's the case it might be worth trying to dump your shader cache and increasing the limit via NVIDIA Control Panel to see if it helps with the stuttering you're still seeing.

IIRC DX11 has an issue where every time a new shader is shown in the game for the first time it will cause a micro stutter, but once it's happened it doesn't occur again. It's been a while since I've run into that issue, though, so I might be misremembering.

4k 120??? Cap. Are you using lossless scaling FG because my 3070ti at 1140p high dlss qual is only at 120 ish. Or are you using ultra perf mode...
