Crashing on Startup (FIXED)

~~~ORIGINAL ISSUE AND POST~~~
Was excited to play this game after experiencing the demo. However, whenever I launch the game I am stuck on black screen with a loading symbol before it forces my mouse cursor to the top left of the screen and crashes to desktop within ~7 seconds.

I have tried various troubleshooting such as reinstalling, restarting (steam and PC), verifying game files, updating drivers, running as admin, disabling antivirus/firewall, forcing DX11, and trying lower compatibility.

Hoping the game receives a fix or a solution is found, otherwise I will be looking to refund my purchase.

~~~SOLUTION FOUND~~~
Apparently a file named "sl.pcl.dll" was causing the crash. Browse the local files to find it in:
Engine\Plugins\Runtime\Nvidia\Streamline\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64

Delete the file and hopefully the game runs, this is what fixed the issue for me.

I am having the same problem and downgraded to 566.36. It still won't work :/

also tried rolling back drivers but game still crashes

Same. Game shows the loading screen for 6 seconds then crashes. 4070 on v.572

To all who are following this discussion or having trouble with crash on startup. Apparently there is a file named "sl.pcl.dll" that is causing the crash. I deleted the file and it fixed my issue. I'm able to play the game normally now :D.

If you right click the game on the steam library, find properties and browse local files it should be in the folder:
Engine\Plugins\Runtime\Nvidia\Streamline\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64

Either delete the file or move it to desktop, that is what worked for me. Hope this helps.

I've just tried this and it's not working for me. Still get the spinning mouse load followed by the UE4 Direct X install which has me uninstall. I've tried reinstalling same and it reverts. New drivers aswell with Nvidia. No idea what's going on

I did a small amount of searching and found this discussion from 2020 which seems to have a similar issue in regards to a message box asking to install/uninstall direct X on startup.

Seems the solution that was found in this discussion was to try running the game as administrator, hope this helps you run the game! If not, then I wish you the best of luck moving forward.

Yeah i've tried that aswell. Also fresh install of drivers. No luck. This is really frustrating.

Hey, thanks a lot for this solution. I had the exact same issue and this fixed it. Some other UE4 games I tried to run were giving me start up problems as well and maybe this will help.

Hi. I have the answer.

Right click game in steam > Properties > Installed Files > click Browse button, will open your file explorer to the game location. \The First Berserker Khazan Demo\Engine\Plugins\Runtime\Nvidia\Streamline\Binaries\ThirdParty\Win64 and in there, delete the file called "sl.pcl.dll". Or cut it to your desktop temporarily and relaunch the game, and move it back into the folder if it doesn't resolve the crash.

What worked for me to be able to move in the title screen is
I deleted both profilesetting.sav /Demo from the game folder
and I saw a BBQ folder outside the game directory. I deleted the gameusersetting.ini there, and it worked. I can now choose new game or continue
