That'S not how the set works mate.
One thing I'd recommend for phase one is that charged greatsword heavy attack is guaranteed to interrupt him if it lands.
Uh... no, it's not. None of the Dark Souls or Elden Ring had such a spike on a mandatory boss.
Either way, made it its 4th pattern, decided to take a small break to reset. Should be good to go after
This is going to be an enthusiast's game.
The greatest difficulty in NioH for me were the controls tbh.
first off: brink guarding is almost always better than dodging, the only exception being when he throws his weapon. once he slams his weapon to the ground he will initiate a 6hit combo but it has a *very* low range, just run away (and throw some javelins at his head).
you should also back off from him when your stamina gets low, the only thing he is able to do to you at range is to throw his weapon and those attacks are really well telegraphed and easy to dodge.
also keep in mind that you can parry some of his attacks like the double cleave, this will reduce 50% of his stamina and leave him staggered for a few seconds.
the second phase is just as easy, since his attacks in that phase are even slower. just make sure to brink guard when the screen turns dark and he jumps at you, iirc there is no follow up to these jump attacks so its safe even if it breaks your guard (you can also try to dodge those jumps (even in phase 1) but make sure that you dodge to the *opposite* site based on in which hand he is holding his weapon (if he holds the weapon in the left hand while in air dodge to the right), but honestly, just guard those attacks)
keep in mind that this game is built around brink guarding and counterattacking, dodging drains too much stamina which is pretty scarce to begin with.
I have 4 healing pots, I think you might be able to have 5 by this point and boosted health recovery.
It's rough. I got it down to 5% in final phase. Well timed abilities really seem to be the key...
You can put points into skill tree to reduce dodge stamina usage. 3 points.
Also one that lengthens the iframes of your dodge based on your Agility.
