u can switch on the fly to easy difficulty in the settings though.
u can also play the demo first.
Maybe the game gets much harder later on but I feel like it's more like a decent challenge but with a high skill ceiling on the player combo and parry side.
After getting a full set, it's easier than other soulslike games, even on the normal difficulty, no idea about easy difficulty.
Gear drops seem to level up along side you, so you can grind in lower level areas if you want, also when you lose to a boss, you get some extra souls, and you can gather you souls back outside of the arena, so you can farm whatever you like.
Also as mentioned with gear, you can farm any area/mission as many times you want.
If you're stuck on a boss, as long as you make some sort of progress while fighting it, you keep getting souls/lacrima so you can probably eventually overlevel it after dying enough.
I've found the parry overall to be more forgiving than the dodge system, and when you have an attack that cant be parried coming your way, the dodge window seems to open up a bit. I have had a much more successful time once I got the parry timing down. The game has a skill tree like mentioned above. I'm only a few hours in but, it looks like you can kind of dial in your desired defense mechanics via skill points.
There's a bit more to the game than just assigning stats so as you play more you will be adding points into the standard Vitality, Strength, Endurance ect. As well as fleshing out your play style through the skill tree.
There is also a skill tree per weapon type so some weapon types might be easier to use than others
The game is about patient and learning when to stop hitting boss, when to use dodge and blocks. Once you figure this out everything is good.
My tip is :
1. Stop hitting boss before he attack, stop hitting boss before you run out of stamina because if you didn't do any of this = K.O or big damage from boss.
2. When you run out of stamina and you are beside enemy, move backwards/sides to avoid hit and then don't press anything that drain your stamina so it can restore.
It's okay to die the first time yo battle boss, heck even twice because you are learning the mechanics, once you know the mechanics everything is eassy. I just use blocks 98% of the time. I use dodge if I get the letter P icon from enemy attack ( can't be block) or if I get impatient and I run out of stamina while beside boss lol
Even if you are playing in easy mode if you don't know how to use your blocks/dodge/attack properly, The Boss will laugh at you lol
Anyone saying otherwise has an ego.
It's very hard. For one thing in NioH 2 you can use the transformations to utterly annihilate bosses.
Luckily, major bosses I run into did not have any corpse runs so trying them repeatedly is fine.
There is also the added benefit of getting some experience and progress toward skill points while fighting bosses even if you do not defeat them, which will make you stronger as you learn those fights.
I'm obviously just few hours in but so far the game is manageable on normal difficulty. On the other hand, I already have good 30 deaths between 2 major bosses.
Viper is like.. a MEGA WALL lol
Combat requires a lot of finesse so you don't get stunned from stamina loss but there is some endlag on some moves that makes it hard to react to some of Viper's attacks.
I get to phase two but I'm out of pots in phase 2, so it's like "lol" Don't really get the chance to learn phase 2.
Maybe I'll try grinding. I'm not using summons.
Does the game let you do the counterattack thing after every single brink guard in succession? or is there generally not enough of a window and you need to wait until the last hit?
just suck it up and play on easy till nexon nerfs his ass and i can tell you its coming.
Can't see them nerfing it if people can swap to easy and pass it just fine.
Nerfs come when they are scared people have no other options.
