WAS going to buy this game until...
I saw a review saying there is an "Easy mode". How tf do you put an easy mode in a souls game? and why? So sick of this generation of "Gamers"

Edit: I guess it's time I edit this, as people don't read through entire threads for the updated information, and this thread is never dying it seems... lol

After learning that you were stuck on a one way trip for the difficulty you chose, I decided this was good enough to give the game a try, because I like these types of games. The whole point behind what I said, is to convey that I feel a sense of accomplishment with these types of games, but several people have seen fit to insult and down right be nasty, even suggesting mental problems, when they truly know nothing about me at all, it's quite sad.

Fast forward to now, and they have released a patch that nearly no one is happy with from what I can see. They have nerfed bosses in both normal and easy, which makes literally no sense.

My wife plays this game too, and struggled a lot with the first two bosses, yet because of the games very forgiving "Catch up" mechanics, she was able to gain more levels and master, and eventually win. It's so forgiving, that she is mastery 12 right now, and I am mastery 9, while I have just beaten viper, and she is still grinding the second version of the second boss.
Point is, the game rewards you for continuing to try, and when you succeed, you're supposed to finally feel good, but now, this is cheapened by them just making bosses easier, even for us normal players.

I beat Viper on the second try, but I don't know how nerfed he is, because I can't find any information on this, and I guess I'll never know, I am just left unsatisfied, wishing I played sooner, my bad?

L take. Play game or dont. "Because this game is accessible for some, its bad" is such a lame mindset of gatekeeping.

Yeah I've beaten them all. This isn't a souls like then. People should be happy with just calling it an Action Adventure game or something, so then the difficulty slider makes more sense. Souls Likes shouldn't have a difficulty option, that's the reason they have that label, it's hard.
If you think souls games are "hard" then you have negative IQ.
If you want to farm jesters, you need to be more subtle than that, dude, way more subtle...

Does everyone else hear a baby crying, and I don't don't mean a little whimper, like an audible soft boy crying his eyes out.

Doesn't every souls like have an easy mode? You can flatout outlevel everything. It just isn't a difficulty slider in a menu.

IN MY VIDEO GAME!?

Twitter will hear about this...

They don't want other people beating the game on easy is what it is. Cheapens their sense of satisfaction. I wholeheartedly disagree with this. Because the other people didn't "beat it on normal" they beat it "on easy" and will tell people that they "beat it on easy"

Who cares lol. My god.

It's an ego thing.

Imagine just playing a game for your own satisfaction.

Yah I get it. Eternal struggle of the PvE hero that treats everything like it's ranked PvP.

So long as they aren't dumbing down the difficulty without an option to opt out and play hard mode, nobody should care.

There was a time, many moons ago, where this was happening. No option to increase difficulty, everything built for uber casual players. I found that concerning, then Demon's Souls got an NA release and the industry seemed to shift back towards difficulty in PvE games.

This game actually continues to grant experience even if you're dying repeatedly on the same boss, you will literally out pace it by virtue of not being good enough for the content. Granting an easy mode just streamlines that for people who don't like to beat their head against a wall.

You don't *have* to use the skillpoints you acquire. You always have ways of increasing your own difficulty other than just adjusting the settings.

Oh no, the game has modes, how could they! Making games accessible? Unforgivable!
Just how miserable are you that you cannot handle a difficulty setting in a game?
New game out! Quick! Let's go to Steam forums and vomit my last braincells!
