Best language for voice acting?

I am not American so English is not my first language either. I normally default to the creator's original language, but my Korean ia wore than even my Chinese.

I would think the Japanese would be solid given how Korean companies often make games in Japanese from conception. However, I've heard the English could be good this time arond?

So please, people who play games in various languages, what language are you choosing or would you choose?

Either the voice acting that comes from the country of origin, or the voice acting that was decided as the cannonical one (like The Witcher 3 in English despite being a Polish game, or Japanese in Ghost of Tsushima's case). Anything else is ethnocentrism fueled by latent xenophobia.

In Khazan's case, absolutely not English, however good the performance may seems. What's the game country of origin ? What was the main voice acting used during the official marketing campaign from the developers (not talking about the local distributors / Youtube channels in their respective markets) ?

Original language of the country of origin for voice acting with English for subtitles, always. I hate modern English voice acting dubs and I hate modern English voice actor dubbers.

The Japanese dub sounds Fine. The English dub is quite good. Ben Starr's always a joy to listen to. The Korean original is good for the raw performance, although I don't know if it's any better than the other two. Just pick whichever language sounds good to you. Khazan isn't exactly a game rooted in a specific culture where playing it in its 'authentic' language matters.

no, some people just don't want to read subtitles while watching things happening on screen. some people have focus issues. some people just like characters communicating in a language they understand because it's easier to process. it has nothing to do with xenophobia. are you okay?

It's a prequel to Dungeon Fighter Online, which only has korean voice acting. So I think korean voice acting is the correct option.

Choose japanese if you want anime vibe. In that case, you will hear some famous actors such as Hayami Sho (aka Aizen Sosuke the GOAT) as the blade phantom and Toshiyuki Morikawa (aka Sephiroth the one winged angel) as Khazan. I don't know the others but I can't wait to hear more.

definitely japanese voice acting is much better here. and it's not like there is a TON of plot, so you won't have to read subtitles for that long if you're worried about that side of it

Reading subtitles is not a particular concern.

I guess I'll change my question to:

how good is the Korean voice acting? If recommended, I'll stick with it. If not, maybe I'll switch to Japanese.

I'd say whichever sounds the most pleasant for you. Imo both Korean and Japanese dubs work perfectly fine, but I "vibe" more with the Japanese voices.

The only other thing I'd say is that, depending on your knowledge of said language, Korean/Japanese dub with Eng sub can sometimes be very jarring in my opinion. Eng subs usually don't properly convey the same message and/or tones that the actual Korean/Japanese is saying/intending.

I had this as a major gripe with Tsushima, in some cases the sub was so out of line with the dub I just couldn't. But for a game like this where, overall, story comes second or even third try both Korean and Japanese for a moment and pick whichever brings the most for your ears.
