Two - that's how pretty much all souls combat works. I take it you are not souls player... Just don't be greedy and think when you fight.

You need to keep an eye on boss pattern of fighting so you know when to stop fighting and be able to handle boss attack. This game is not just attack attack, it teaches you when and how. I think the fighting in this game pretty easy, once you learn boss attack pattern its a gg...Patient and timing needed.
Example the first Yetti
Yetti = He does attack attack -1 to 2second pause-attack attack-1 to 2 second pause
Player -= hold block or perfect block (block when it strike) - hit boss once /twice or stand while let stamina fill up then get ready for 2nd phase of attack.
Note : You attack or block it depends on your remaining stamina - if you consume all your stamina in attacking you are vulnerable on boss attack and if you attack more than twice, you also not able to block his next attack.
Another example of his moves is when he punch -punch -big punch using his whole body that his butt facing you - another big punch using his full body ( but after the last move he start going dizzy like drunk person ( during this you should only hold block until he got dizzy out balance ) then you can attack few times ( keeping an eye on stamina by not using them all and stop before yetti recover because he will do a punch and if you are not ready you get big damage.
When and how many to hit is also a big matter - You won't be able to dodge/blocks in boss attack if your so busy attacking boss.
I keep using blocks, I only avoid iif boss attack cant be block.
Anyway when and how -patience and timing is all about this game.
Byeeeee
You've seen the first 1 hour of the game and you can already tell there are no bosses more complex than blade phantom?
Did you not see the multiple skill trees that actually change your whole playstyle depending on what you pick??
Obv because you say the combat is basic, which is just not true even for an early demo.
