they're saying 80 hours for the true ending on their AMA...
i feel like that can't be right. people thought wukong would take 100 hours to beat and more to platinum, it's not even remotely close to that.

80 hours for a platinum? I could maybe see it but this seems like it's going to have that average 50-60 hour platinum like stellar blade and lies of p in terms of hardcore action/souls.

this game looks smaller in terms of world, much more focused and it's mission based. not even nioh takes that long to beat.

And? Resident Evil 2 is beatable under 2 hours AND a milestone in games history.

So 60, 80 or 100hours for "platinum"?! Where is the point?

the point is that gamers shouldn't get excited thinking theyre gonna get tons of content or have an elden ring length'd game. the devs are overestimating to get people to be more interested probs.

realistically, 60-70 hours.

bro fk elden ring, honestly! i'd rather have 60 hrs of condensed linear engaging content than 100+ hrs of mainly wandering around like a bellend through the "open world..... ooooooooh so incredible" feeling constantly lost and frustrated and ocasionally fighting something.

60 hrs is perfect. i beat black myth in 60 hrs without the special secret parts. i beat sekiro around the 60 hrs mark as well without the gauntlets.

Everyone plays differently, so it's legit if they take 80 hours, someone else might take 40...
I recently saw someone who spent 400 hours playing a 10 hour game and never finished it, so yea..
Maybe it's an average time for their testers, comprised of some people who are new to gaming and some who are experienced...

80 hours is more than enough.

It's not going to be even half that, based on what we've seen these are wide linear levels with very little exploration and zero verticaliity.

If it took you 60 hours to beat base Black Myth either you like exploring and completionism more than you think, or sorry to say, you're just really bad at souls games, it took me roughly 40 hours to beat the monkey game including the True Ending, and i'm by no means a god gamer.

That is a long time for this type of game lol.. Its not an open world game. Final Fantasy games take 60-80 hours... wth are you going on about?

The Fextralife review stated it should take many Souls-like players about 40 hours, with another 20 for side stuff. In my own experience, the bosses have been taking hours (plural lol), so it may depend on how much you struggle. Personally, I'm fine with like 12 hours if they're great hours, and thus far, I've been having a blast and am likely to exceed the 12 hour mark at my current playtime rate.

60-80 hours its more than enough if the content its good... you dont want a game filled with stupid boring trash just to add more hours into it.

It also depends in how good are you with souls-like games, some people take hours to complete a single boss but if you can complete them with just two or three tries then you will finish it faster ofc.

no reason to be a d i c k. maybe they explored abit. maybe they sat for a minute. What you said isnt a flex. Running through the game and not even enjoying it. Maybe you just have no love for gaming. Long games are usually boring with a bunch of added nonsense like elden ring.

It took me about 70 hours on my first playthrough, and I'm a completionist who makes it a point to find every hidden bit of loot and makes sure to get all the collectibles. I got stuck on a couple bosses that took around 2 hours each, but otherwise it was pretty smooth sailing, so 80 isn't outside the realm of possibility if you get stuck on a handful of bosses for a while.
