DFO lore people, I have a question
According to the starting text of the game, Khazan and Ozma fought Hismar the Berserk Dragon. However, Hismar was in Empyrean, which is a separate world from Arad. And Bakal's sealed the entrance between the two worlds.

How did Khazan and Ozma fight Hismar?

Dragon lore (and honestly a lot of DFO lore in general) is a bit weird because there has been both a ton of retcons and, worse, a lot of multidimensional/time travelling shenanigans. The game is likely following the original timeline, where Bakal sent Hismar to Arad to conquer it.

What the ♥♥♥♥ is with Neople and using retconned story for side games? First it was DnF Duel with the Lost Warrior.

I think in this case it's moreso the timetravelling/multidimensional plots making things weird than it is retcons. The OG dragon timeline is probably still relevant to the main lore in DNF in a weird, multiverse-y way, I don't think it's completely retconned out.

I might need to replay the story in that case. I'm already dreading Pandemonium.

But even if that were the case, you'd think such events would be known by the Blade. Lost Warrior's identity is significant to the Knight's story but far as I can tell, he hasn't been seen since he was took out of the story. Given his relationship with the Metastasis event, I'd say he's been written out of the story.

Also Lost Warrior wasn't the only retcon in DnF Duel, Saint Horn arena also has portals to the Otherverse. By the time the game came out, Otherverse was completely wiped out, I forgot when but it was before the Sirroco raid.

Yea Duel was particularly weird about having a lot of retconned stuff. Maybe it started development before the Origin patch? The idea of Carloso, the Knights and the Metastasis were neat, but it's probably something they accidentally let out the bag way too soon, which is probably a big contribution to the massive retcon (Metastasis-era lore was a wacky time. Everything was so vague and all the conflicts were explained as either "Metastasis' fault" or "Luke's Black Nightmare").

DNF has a really neat Universe. Cool characters, interesting set pieces and good worldbuilding. They just had a lot of trouble connecting all the pieces. The story as it is now at least feels like it's easier to follow than whatever was going on with the Metastasis and Time Gate, but it's still filled with weird interdimensional stuff that feels like an excuse to write in whatever alternate stories they feel like.

Okay so I asked around. Bakal did send Hismar to Arad to terrorize and to make his future conquest there easier, so he targeted the Empire. The Great Mage Ozma and Great General Kazan put an end to Hismar. This was the original timeline, and happened long before this game.

I don't even remember this happening... This must be from when Female Slayer was introduced
