I believe parrying uses stamina, and I'm not sure if either perfect blocking prevents stamina depletion or lessens stamina consumption. But, stepping back to know the boss's attack patterns, when to perfect block/dodge, and swiftly attack while he recovers from each and every attack will ensure victory for you.

This game is literally all about parries. Even if you die, just spend time learning the parry timings, so that you do better on the next attempt. I just dumped all my points into whatever the first stat was.
Countering is somewhat more useful, when Perfect Guard shouldn't be used.
Perfect Guard is well perfect, you don't take any dmg, you don't lose stamina, and you deal damage back to the enemy.
Skill issue. Git gud.
Certainly a skill issue, 100%. But I don't think most players will be sweaty enough to get through this game. :/
I was having fun until I hit the wall though.
