easy mode
The game seems great so far (stamina is tough for now tho). The only drawback is the easy mode, just why. It's lazy, if you really need to make the game easier for weaker players why not implement some mechanics in the game that will minimally help them defeat tough enemies. Easy mode toggle in options is just not it.

I dont 't agree with you. I'm 50 years old casual player and "easy mode" is just perfect for me.

u get me wrong. Im not 100% against something that makes the game easier. I just dislike lazy solution. Elden ring doesnt have that and they still managed to make the game easier for players that need that by implementing in game easy mode which are summons (i think theyre too strong imo but its better than easy mode in options)

Why tf do you even care if others play on easy mode? It doesn't affect you at all. jfc...

It's an option, you don't like it, just don't use it, geeez.

Buddy are you one of those "weaker players" that you mentioned in your op? Then it's a legit wish. But as it sounds, you don't use or need the easy mode, you just dislike there is that option in the settings. Which is none of your business.
Realize why this thread sounds dumb af?

that was not my point. I suggested elden ring solution like summons or something that is interesting and built in the gameplay not option to turn on/off
Tried both difficulties out first was normal and it was a ton of fun, some things felt easy but the end boss was a real skill check took 20 tries to take him out. Easy was kinda a relaxed play vs the beginning and normal I didn't die once on that play though. If i had to guess what it does is the same as easy mode mods for all souls like games, less damage received more exp and less aggressive enemies to where they just stood there if they landed a hit on you.
This is all subjective but the game becomes easier the more you learn all attack patterns of enemies, I think that is what really made it easier for me.

yea, normal difficulty felt nice, big yeti was a bit too easy tho. Imo those games dont need any difficulty slider at all, game become easier when u put some time in it and learn, but i guess devs just want this game to be more approachable for wider range of players on the market

Actually there is a mechanic in the game to help players. You gain XP when losing to bosses. After a few failed attempts you have enough XP to upgrade

This is probably the best new feature added to the genre so each attempt was not a loss, Im sure if this game gets enough fan base the modders will turn it all hard core but in the mean time all players should feel that feeling when you finally beat a boss man thats good!

and the gains are proportional to the progress of the fight, losing when the boss has 20% life left brings much more than if you just scratched him

Appreciate you trying out the easy mode, cause I was curious what the differences would be since I went straight to normal and this is my first time playing any "Souls" style game combat. If they made any mechanical adjustments, like bigger windows/higher priority on the block/parry/dodge where it becomes more snappier like other character action games, I would have considered trying easy mode out. If its just numbers adjustments and less aggressive enemy AI, then I'm good with going through with normal difficulty

I'm Souls vet and I chose EASY. Can't be bothered to play higher, if they offering easy, why not 🙂.

True though, why games can't have dynamic difficulty. If player sucks, give them more help like dropping difficulty, if player good, crank it up.

Games like Max Payne 20yrs back did it. You keep dying same place, you get more health items , weapons etc.

pity is lame, its better to just go back and clear a previous zone for exp. if you have to out-level all the boss fights just to beat em it's a poorly balanced game, it just rewards wasting your time grinding trash you can't practice mechanics on and won't help you with the boss attack timings.
overleveling your challenge is boring and weak, its the same point as turning on easy mode, yeah there's gonna be casuals that need the easy mode, but quite frankly, they don't need to be playing games like these.
the ops point stands. the game forces you to overlevel your challenge instead of giving the player the tools in order to succeed. without being a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ robot.
we are human beings that make mistakes. stop balancing ♥♥♥♥ based on the losers that cheat and farm for 50 hours just so they can play badly and still win.
