Is there a bug in the Alternative ending aka the 8-star ending?

I finally managed to get the 7 stars required to get to the alternative Braid level and get to the princess. With all 7 stars, the two levers become time-immune, allowing the princess to pass thru faster.

Also, Tim is supposed to reach the chandelier WAY sooner than the princess and ride the chandelier up to meet her.

This is the stage that gets buggy for me, as the piranha plants do not come down until after the Princess has almost reached the chandelier, at which point, there is no way I can reach the chandelier fast enough to ride it up.

I saw a couple of walkthrough videos, and in the vids, the piranha plants go down much sooner than they do for me.

I dunno what to do, or how to go about reporting this. Pls help!

Here's your problem, if you haven't solved it already. If the levers are immune to your time reversals, once you hit both of them, rewind to where you were positioned under the levers and ignore them to accelerate beyond the fire wall and get past the piranha plants quicker. At which point you are free to get to the chandelier area and right as it's mending itself, jump and it will carry you up to where you need to go to unlock the alternate ending.

I've met the same problem, but my two levers are not time-immune(no green color). So rewinding does not help. and the piranha plants are blocking the way when it first shown on the screen, it's weird because it's different from those walkthrough videos.

Update. my problem solved.
the reason my levers are not time-immune is that I missed a star in world 4. After collecting 7 stars, levers become immune. use rewind twice can help to run much faster.
