DGVoodoo2 is on Github, which is owned by Microsoft, that scans all codebases for malicious items.
I have used it on many other "abandonware" games like Lego Island, Lego Creator Knights Kingdom, and now this one.
it works like a charm and is 100% safe.
I am using Win11 and for me setting the screen to 1280x1024 or 1280x800 and scaling to 100% was sufficient.
Changing the DPI scaling of HostileWaters.exe and HostileSetup.exe to Application by setting the checkbox also works. Other compatibility settings are not helpful.
Edit: But then you can't launch the game via the Steam client because that will undo the change you made to HostileSetup.exe. Starting the game HostileWaters.exe directly is working stable though.
HRTF Light Audio Processing works, HRTF Full does not.
