I am guessing Forden does not know how to fight. The big sea monster trophy he presented in the Sea city was fake, And we never see him do anything cool other than poking with a stick.

All the fighting is done by his soldiers or the bald guy.

Probably just fake. My guess is they hired someone to hunt it and they brought them a fake or different beast. It is also possible that there were multiple out there but that seems unlikely to me. But It seemed clear to me that they were using their power to cheat in the competition.

They were absolutely cheating in the competition. It's why Louis never bothered to properly join it, because there'd be no point.

I think It was fake, i guess the real sea monster is the human that you fight while goin to Virga.
