There's bystanders acting straight in the game, but there's no LGBTQ+ content like FF7 Rebirth has it. That's a bit disappointing considering that even Persona 5 had non binary characters in the game.

It kinda feels like Atlus regressed in terms of representation.

The artists represent who they want to. Its not about "you" its not about "me" its not about anyone but what the damn devs want to do. They do what they want to do.

This is another classic thread that drives everyone insane that the steam mods should be banning. Steam mods need to start doing something.

are you assuming the characters identity? yknow... it doesnt have to be spelled out for you for it to exist. for all you know Hulkenburg can be gay, but its just not relevant to the story at ALL and thus never mentioned.

sexuality and gender identity are NOT a personality, and if it has nothing to do with the story then why bother throwing it in?

hell the main character is a softboi who is rather androgynous, hulkenburg is a strong and valiant woman, and Strohl is a passionate emotional young man.

I think the main cast is already pretty diverse and interesting without them being openly gay or trans. and if they were then of course I wouldnt mind whatsoever, but really. why does it matter?

I read on Kotaku that this game thankfully fixed longstanding issues from the Persona franchise, but then I look at Metaphor and I see no sign of queerness at any point. Completely invisibilized.

I also read Kotaku and heard the same. HOWEVER, the gays still claim Hulkenberg. Sorry, heckin' straights!

I understand this, but you realize that the animators decided to include straightness anyway in the demo. FF7 Rebirth had queer NPCs and the gesture was very much welcomed and appreciated. It's 2024 and there have been huge strides made in representation. Why is that wholly absent in this game?

Agreed. After the Naoto debacle from Persona 4 with LGBTQIA+ erasure, Atlus OWES the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

ok let me rephrase, as someone who identifies as non-binary I dont think it has anything to do with the game and thus would be unimmersive and out of place.

I would prefer that subject matter be well written and complex instead of "main character is non-binary hurdur" just for the sake of representation.
