Report a translation problem
You are right. While writing the guide a little while ago I did check for the threshold / separation point, but wasn't able to find it and ran out of time. I'll check some more when I run across a part of the story when the name of the book character is on-screen. Haven't been able to play all week though due to, well.. life.
If anyone finds the threshold before me, let me know and I'll update the guide.
Edit: If I recall reading it from somewhere else correctly it should be the latest 3 entries or something, but I need to verify this.
I've looked into it and I'm afraid I can't answer this easily. The save game appears to grow in size the longer you play, therefore I can't really say what the definitive offsets are. The further you are in the game, the more data is appended (including references to the names).
However, it's possible to download someone else's save and open that in your HxD editor. That way you can compare the values. Hope this helps.
