Name change? Potential spoilers of the start

I gave my character and me the same name. Is there a way to change either name using some sort of editor? I don't want to start over my save

I checked the local configuration files, and couldn't find a solution there. Only pcconfig.dat is editable, but that does not contain any name settings.

There is a cheat table for cheat engine where you can change your name and the MC's name.

change the text language of your game and it will change into a default name. but not really a fix that you're looking for

Just out of Curiosity: How did this Happen? In English and German, the Game Warns you with Big Red Letter and a Warning Sign, that your Name is not the MC Name and you shouldnt Name both the same.

Is that not the Case in Other Localisations?

Same as always: It happens because of an issue between the chair and the keyboard/controller.

Many games like to make naming something sound bigger than it is, so most of us just toss in names and go on with our day. Because it doesn't matter in 99% of games. In this one it actually does. I found out it actually matters after putting like 8 hours into the demo. I, and I assume many other people don't want to have to start over just for a name, so a way to change names would be nice.

Unfortunately it changes back to the old name when you switch back to correct language again :(
