bought the game and preloaded...
is it safe to delete the demo now? assuming the save file will just be pulled from that automatically?

I'm not sure.

In the past, with the only title I purchased while I still had the demo installed at the same time, as soon as I hit download for the full version, the demo automatically uninstalled to clear the folder structure for the full version (which pissed me off, I wasn't quite done with the demo. I figured to finish it while the full version downloaded). IF this game is using the same logic, where the full game will occupy the same folder structure, and IF the save files from the demo backed up to the steam cloud, then it SHOULD be safe to uninstall.

My personal recommendation however, as long as you can afford the hard drive space, leave the demo in place until after the full version is installed and working, just to be safe.

I'd just keep it until game is released

the only conclusion i can draw from the current situation is that when i preloaded the retail version, it was a roughly 30 gig download. couple that with the 55gb file size of the demo and that adds up to roughly the file size of the full game on the store page. assuming both files will consolidate at one point but if not i guess we'll just have to figure it out,

I never downloaded the demo and the pre-load was also a ~33gb download for me. I think it's just heavily compressed.
