Until you get the Royal Archetypes this is probably best (assuming the accessory is available then, i only found it at the tail end of the game but I think Alonzo's Rank 6 unlocks them). Once you have the Prince, you only need the Prince to use any and all Synthesis skills. So you don't have to choose to use a bad Archetype just for a good Synthesis skill. You can have 3 Offensive characters and 1 Defensive/Buffer, or 2 and 2 which I think would be ideal for the Dragon Trials.
honestly I would buy 4 of em and put one each on every active character
Peerless Stonecleaver oneshotting endgame story bosses, Merchants gang build etc.
NG+ is practically a joke with all the Sublime Spoonfuls that you can make unless you impose some self-retraints.
I just watched a challenge run with all Archetypes always weak to all affinities except Almighty and they mostly breezed through it using just a handful of strats, one of which I hypothesized but was unwilling to test it out cause lazy. Basically, Evasion is very, VERY good in this game and thus Evasion buffs and Hit Rate debuffs are king. With this and Defense buffs and/or Attack debuffs you can basically cruise through the game. Equip Utilitarian Manual and focus on max damage once buffed/debuffed and it's basically smooth sailing. Basically you are doing Heismay's Royal Archetype strat but the entire game.
Peerless Stonecleaver hmm... looking it up, yep it's a Synthesis skill and is best used alongside Utilitarian Manual. So I'm right, this accessory breaks the game (or at least it goes from an OP move to a completely broken one with UM).
Peerless Stonecleaver is actually best used with the Gambler's Manual.
It using 2 turns doesn't matter when you're hitting for 15k.
