I'm stuck on 'Ice D' fight, and can't go back.
Rather frustraiting, the game has been a reasonble challange so far on medium difficulty and enjoyable, however i seem to be massilvy underlevled / don't have certain arcytpes for the
Sogne The IceboundSogne The Icebound fight

and i can't go back to grind up levels. Does anyone have any suggestions, as guides say to use classes i just havn't leveled, 'faker' etc.....

ALL rather frustrating.

Frostbite immunity on physical attackers or Patra in a supporter's slot, and both Dekaja/Dekunda (or at least some form of mass buff/single target debuff). If you're going to use your newest party member, however, make sure to take the Light weakness into account. If you don't have Dekaja access for some reason, Sukunda/Shield Arts like a madman might help save your hide. It's better to try to debuff it than buff yourself since you're likely going to be at either neutral or negative stat values. Don't bring a Brawler because the ice spells will eat them alive, but the Pugilists's defense-dropping Thrust skill is very helpful to use. Knights/Gunners can also inflict physical-damage weaknesses with Synthesis to help set up for the following turns...

There is one really stupid thing you could try to do and that's to INTENTIONALLY trigger Quartz Wall with the very last action you take per turn. The boss will try to set it up again which could eat one of its precious turns, and it's a Block instead of a Reflect so it's not like you'd lose anything more than a final half-press turn. Just as soon as it gets into Phase 3, nuke it hard with the Fire again and nuke it down ASAP. Dragons like to spam Draconic Wrath (Beast Eye flashbacks) once they are seriously wounded, so the less turns you have to deal with it, the better.

Thanks, that advice got me into the 2nd stage. Then i just decided to kick it down to easy for the fight after a party wipe right at the end :)
I mean, wipes happen, sometimes you just get crit bad and all. I play SMT on Hard all the time but I'm not gonna talk down to someone who wanted to drop it to an easier difficulty. Sogne's position of basically locking the player in a hallway with him beforehand certainly does not make preparations any easier. That being said, it's around this time of the game that you REALLY need to make sure you get your support skills online via Faker/Commander/Even the Masked Dancer trees. Dekaja and Dekunda are going to be nigh-mandatory for certain bosses in the future, especially since as I mentioned earlier, they like to go berserk at lower health values with Soul Scream.
It's a really hard fight tbh. I played it on hard and nearly lowered it. You have to sort of spam one of two particular strategies to win that were already mentioned: buff/debuff like crazy, and or hybrid version where you purposefully trigger quartz wall. I went with triggering Quartz Wall and that was the better of the two for me. It forced their next turn to waste a turn recasting it instead of pummeling you. It helps if you cast a bunch of agl/hit debuff relentlessly also.

Good luck, it's annoying af.
