Zorba voice actor is so cringe
Loving this game, but this skinny femboy necromancer with a deep Scottish accent is such a weird choice. Definitely was not the right choice for the role.

Zorba is a submissive tool who willingly chose to act as a mindless extension of someone he deemed superior because that's how week he is. Zorba is no different than Grius yet unlike Grius they make a point of calling Zorba out on it. I'd say based off of that and your criticism of him he was perfectly cast, if not for...

It seems like your problem with him is his design and your own weird hang-ups, not his voice.

I actually liked him more than the rest of the annoyingly British sounding cast. I'm sick to death of any and everything medieval or fantasy having british accents, almost ruined DQ11 for me if it weren't for the ability to turn that garbage off. i know why and don't care, british people exist and they are just americans with even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pronunciation and grammar.

There's nothing fantastical about some fool who doesn't know the difference between cookies and biscuits and who simps for an old lady, that's just weird.

I think his character is interesting and well explained, but my only complaint is the voice actor being so incredibly scottish. Like Wispy said above, it was very jarring to listen to. I don't think it fit his character at all.

I do agree with your rant about everything fantasy / medieval being British, it seems unnecessary. I didn't finish DQ11 because I found the last act to be a waste of time, I already collected all of the characters once, and now the game expects me to do it a second time? Just felt like they were milking the playtime.
I ended up having to go back to Japanese VA. I couldn’t take the combat with his English VA seriously.

I do kind of question the Scottish accent decision.

These complaints feel weird to me, like are scottish people only allowed to have certain personalities and looks?

People are being over critical because Zorba makes them feel CERTAIN WAYS and they aren't willing to address those feelings.

Have to agree. The choice of English VA for Zorba was just weird. It didn't really fit the character design at all.
I remember a couple of the characters from the opening cinematic with the wagon also made me go "wait, wut?" when i heard their voices.
Rest of the VA's were fine though, I think. Can't really remember anyone else that felt overly mismatched.
Weird take. Atlus voice direction is especially peak. If you have an issue with a Scottish accent, why not draw the line there? nobody's forcing you to listen to the English casting

Yeah why can't a skinny wannabe David Bowie goth star child who simps after another dude not sound like Stoic for HtTMD? Nothing weird about that at all. Next we'll have Arnold Schwartznegger with the voice of Adelle.

Thank you! The guy who commented that is a clown.

classic.

Most eng dubs sound like garbage in jrps. Persona 5 is one of the few games which had perfect VA.
