If you want to play only mage / spells oriented classes, go full magic, if you wanna go explorer / physical oriented classes.... go strengh.
If you want to tank, up endurance, if you want more loots, up luck ....ECT....
However, you will encounter some enemies that will nulify the purpose of your main character because they are immune to magic / slash / piercing...
(If you are higher level / on easier difficulty, this will not really be a problem at all)
If you put everything in a stat, when you will need to change class to adapt to the opponents, like from Mage --> Warrior, you will have no strengh and hit like a wet noodle. Same the other way around.
So, you either put a little bit everywhere but you will be a Jack of all trades, or you put on stats that will be usefull for one or two builds, with some risks.
If your mates can do the job you can't, then go, specialize yourself.
