[SPOILER] why the f*** would you try to beat the kriegante dungeon boss before the actual boss fight?

When being followed by Joanna's baby for the first time, the game tells you that you could beat it instead of running away as long as you are strong enough. Well I tried and succeeded doing that on hard difficulty but... wtf what for? All you get is some laughable XP and some item that was so useless that I already forgot what it was. Furthermore, it CONTINUES TO FOLLOW YOU in the next sections as if nothing happened lmao.

Disclaimer before it rains clown awards and angry replies: The game is awesome but I'm just scratching my head why one would suffer through that annoying fight (at least on hard it's pretty difficult) when there's no real reward.

The fights basically for if you'd rather fight than do that specific stealth segment. The stealth segments are obviously short and easy, so I guess it's more for if you think a fight would be more fun.

Or you could say the fight is a punishment for getting caught.

But yea, it's not worth doing intentionally unless you just want to experience it.

Yeah I get that, but the game telling you "you can fight this enemy if you feel strong enough" is kinda misleading in my opinion because there's virtually no reward for doing that lol. Also, you can just run away if caught.

"You can fight this enemy if you're strong enough" isn't really them telling you there's a reward for it, just that it's an option if you don't want to sneak around it.

Now if you remember the optional dragon in the tutorial dungeon, that one the game specifically told you the dragon was guarding some treasure.

And running away has a % chance to fail, so it might work or it might fail and cost you your entire turn.

Maybe it's a problem with the german translation, but that game hint HEAVILY implied there's some kind of "big challenge" that you could try later if not at this point... Also, when a game specifically tells me "wow this is a hard enemy, you can try it if you are brave enough" one would think that's some kind of wortwhile challenge.

Not really, the game saves literally seconds before when you pick up a treasure.

It drops a Health Incense - in the long run, that's way more useful than the sword you get for beating the dragon! The sword gets replaced eventually and never used again; the HP are forever.

Cleaning takes a time slot, killing this boss doesn't. The time and resource invesetment probably isn't worth it anyway, but there are distinct upsides.
