BUG: Suddenly all sounds mute/disappear

When playing the game, every 5-20 min all sound disappear in the game. I get them back by going to settings -> sound settings -> audio output and selecting it again will restore the sounds.

Anyone else has this problem?

Yeah, I have this bug when trying to play the game with the headphones connected to my Xbox controller. Audio will work for a few seconds but then it mutes until I change the audio settings.

Yep. Happens when playing under Crossover on MacOS Sequoia

seems to happen on any wireless audio device, or an audio device connected to a wireless controller.

Happens on Deck too with no external controller or audio attached…I think it might be related to WINE (at least for devices using WINE)

Everything worked for the first six hours, but yesterday the sound started to disappear. I play with a wireless gamepad.

Just say "It happens". My speakers suffer the same.

You guys should be loud and leave negative reviews. What they did with the sound in this game is completely unacceptable.

It's the kind of stuff that happens when SOMEONE decides to reinvent the wheel. Audio in this game doesn't work like 99.99% of the games and it's brought up a multitude of bugs.

Agreed. I would also encourage everyone to post in the official bug report discussion, pinned at the top of this forum. The steamDB depots show new test builds up daily, so it appears at least Atlus is working hard on fixes (at least generally speaking)

Welp, this bug has now officially happened to me on Deck using WINE/Proton (Linux), using WINE/CrossOver (Mac), and when running natively on my 4080 (Windows). I’m tempted to just put this game away for a while. What a disappointment for the asking price. I’ve learned my lesson – won’t be buying Atlus again any time soon

this occurs only with my wireless headphones... removed doubly and lowered the volume and the issue is still there. any help would be great.

it's horrible and ruins the game. inevitably it occurs during long dialogue or cutscenes and your only choice is to reload or miss that sequence entirely. i can't refund at this point – and anyway i love the game aside from these bugs – so i truly hope they're fixing this

Somehow for me, the bluetooth earbuds are working better than the wireless headphones. I don't know why it works in a place and fails on the other...
