Low audio issues on PC? Try FxSound!

For anyone whose game audio is unusually low, especially with headphones,
here's something you can try that worked for me:

1. First and foremost, have the game closed, just in case (or not, up to you)
   
2. Search up (or click on) FxSound[fxsound.com]
   
   • Download and open up FxSound (it is very simple to use)
     
   • There are two dropdown menus:
     left is the sound preset, right is output device
     
   • Select your preferred output device
     (FxSound will automatically take control)
     
   • Select, test, and then choose your preferred sound preset
     (you can edit and/or select another sound preset whenever you want)
3. Open up Metaphor: ReFantazio
   
   • Go to System → Settings → Audio Settings → Audio Output
     
   • Select the audio device that you had FxSound take control of,
     which is labeled as FxSound Speakers (FxSound Audio Enhancer) in-game

Done!
That should help solve the low game audio issue.

The sound preset that I use is Gaming, but I enhanced Clarity from 3 to 5 and Base Boost from 3 to 5. Though, feel free to test out, edit, and use whichever sound preset sounds best to you, and don't forget to save new presets that you make.

Edit: You can also try out MetaphorFix, a fix that comes with many useful options including overriding the game's master volume. Simply extract the contents of the latest release zip into the game's folder, edit the MetaphorFix.ini file, and then save your changes. That's it! Personally, I still use FxSound because of the extra base boost and sound options it comes with and haven't overrode the game's master volume with MetaphorFix, but the choice is yours. The latest patch as of October 18th has made adjustments to the game's audio volume balance. It should hopefully bring the game's volume to normal levels. Although this patch made raising the volume on headphones to max unnecessary,
I can't help feeling that the game sounds flat, mainly in comparison to playing it while using FxSound. I swear, I'm not sponsored! It's just... base is life, ya know?

Ok, this works like a charm. At least we have a roundabout while Atlus fix it.

It's cute you think they're going to fix it. Gotta love $70 for low effort, no patches, and still a smattering of paid DLC on launch. Greedy, useless company.

To the shock of absolutely no one, thjey didn't fix the issue on launch and never will out of sheer technical incompetence and indifference.

HOWEVER - fortunately for everyone dealing with this garbage, modders have fixed the problem and removed the need for third party programs.

You can override the master volume control with this, and there's a number of other nice little fixes as well you can opt into. Just edit the .ini file to suit your preferences. 3.5 works pretty well for me, personally.

Does FxSound or the MetaphorFix solve the audio stopping entirely, or is it only the low sound that gets fixed.

It finally works and you don´t even have to use the equalizer function of fxsound to make it work! Just make sure that output is set to the new instance made by fxsound and keep it off, this fixes the low volume on my part and enables my own equalizer to WORK. no idea how this even works but yeah

I am Pretty Sure, the Low Volume Problem is a Windows Problem. Did you checked the Seperate Volume Settings of Windows when the Game is runing?
Deactivate or Activate that Windows got Full Control about it?
Changed the Set Audi Settings and so on and on?

Windows is a pretty messed and fuc*ed up Thing when it comes to audio

Dude i got the exact same Issuse of "Metaphor was extremly Low on Volume" while Not a Single OTHER Game was.

And you know why? Because Windos Sets the Volume Output for only this Game to 5%.


So maybe before you come out Crying Check your Settings and Learn what Windows can do and what it cant do.

And like i already told you, windos can set the Volume for Every Single Application on your PC SEPERATLY. Meaning you can get 10% Volume on Game 1, 70% on Game 2, 24% On your Browser and 100% on your Music App like Spotify. It does not matter if you got this or not, it´s the Potential Possible Problem, and therefore you get told the Problem, so everyone getting the same or similar issuse can check all Solutions and try to see what fixes his.
