1. navigate to your compatdata folder in your steam folder
2. find the folder that corresponds with the DEMO version of Metaphor (It'll be a ton of numbers, but if you look at the created date you should be able to narrow down which to choose
3. Find steamuser>AppData>Roaming>SEGA and copy the folder
4. Find the compatdata folder now for the RELEASE version of Metaphor (like step 2)
5. Paste in the copied folder and merge
6. Start Metaphor, then select New Game and you should get the pop up to transfer save data
Good luck hope this works for you too
The demo save data will be save_demo####.sav
They appear to be in the same location for both versions of the game, so the main game is looking for these demo files. I have to go to the steam compatdata folders, find the folder for the demo, copy the files, find the folder for the full game install, paste them into the matching folder.
So as Hibachi said, you should copy the SEGA folder from
compatdata/3130330/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/SEGA/
to
compatdata/2679460/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Application Data/SEGA/
Thanks! After deleting and copying over the whole folder and disabling cloud save, when I started the game it just said that it recognized my saves from the demo and I can carry on.
As long as this is the only Day 1 problem with the game I will be content :)
Thanks
I've turned off cloud saves and done this (with a re-installed demo), but I'm not getting an option to transfer save data in new game.
I can see that all my demo save files are in the game's folder, but no joy.
