MCs' voice

Anyone else hate this dudes voice? I like that he is voice acted, he's honestly fairly well voice acted, but i despise the voice they went with. Every other character so far has been fine, if not good, but the mc's high pitch gaudy tone is just really throwing me off. He sounds GREAT when he screams "AWAKEN", but like a middle schooler when he says "We're already a team!"...

Yeah i checked it out, definitely better there, exactly what i want from the English one tbh. But i really don't want to swap away from the english voice acting just bc the mc's voice is bad. If it irritates me much more though, i will.

Japanese is completely fine but in English I really dislike him.
He sounds like a kind of bored teenager in English.
Which is too bad because Stohl's English VA is knocking it out of the park.
Also I like Gallica in both English and Japanese, but i think she's better in JP.

I don't mind his voice outside of combat. But I really dislike his voice in combat. Sounds too...."whiny", I guess? Nothing against the voice actor, they're doing a great job. The voice just doesn't fit. But I'll live. Still prefer English VA for Strohl

honestly its in dialogue where his voice really irks me, combat is a bit odd too though, whiny is a good descriptor id say.

Stohl really killed it, probably my favorite so far, i find Gallica great too, hell i think her voice is deeper than mc's at times. Really confuses me how they chose all these VA's and then chose the mc, its like they threw darts for everyone's voice and the guy throwing had to take a call right when mc's turn came around.

Tbh I'm not even a massive fan of the MC in general, I think he's just really underwhelming when you're surrounded by charismatic characters. He should be older and more charismatic (like Nier in Nier Replicant for example when he grows up). But yeah I'll take it lol.

I think he should just be bigger, he's 18 i believe, so his age is fine, they just made him a foot shorter than everyone else, and skinny as ♥♥♥♥ too. maybe its a thing with his race, but at that point make the race bigger, idky japan loves tiny male mc's so much.
They're either tall, skinny, and cowardly or short, brave, and cool. Persona mc's are a rare exception, but they're a self insert so...

I don't know about the En Va but the Jp Va is one of my favorites , the Mc is Voiced by Natsuki Hanae he's in a lot of Anime(Tanjiro from Demon Slayer,9S Nier Automata....)
The Jp Va cast is crazy good , I'm a big fan of a lot of them I recognize about 13 of them
Huge fan of Saori Hayami(Yor Forger),Natsuki Hanae,Yui Ishikawa(2B,Violet Evergarden..),Akio Ōtsuka(Yakuza like a dragon, he did my favorite karaoke version of Machine gun kiss,Yujiro Hanma,Thorkell in Vinland Saga...) and so on

Japan really loves their myth, Momotaro where a small guy manages to defeat big guy/Oni.

It also makes cool image composition, you overcoming a big boss.

The Japanese voice acting in any game is usually stellar.
I spent like 3+ hours in the demo tinkering and switching between English & Japanese, but the ONLY case where I genuinely like the English one more is with the Stohl VA (who btw played Dion in FF16). Japanese Stohl is great, but a completely different portrayal, and kind of more intellectual, refined, and soft spoken. English Stohl feels like a true emboldened British noble and I love it lol. When he awakens the archetype and has a monologue, its just great.

I actually really like it!
It reminds me a lot of the English Dub voice for Leonardo Watch in Blood Blockade Battlefront, and that's a voice I think really suits this kind of protagonist perfectly!
