Weird default settings - 200% Render Scale and 50% Master Volume?
Just as a heads up, I'm not sure if there is some auto-detection going on, but my render scale was set to 175% when I launched the game. I set the graphics to High, and then it went to 200%. I set my resolution to 4k Full Screen as well. When I got into the first combat area, like where you have to ignore the enemies, I was getting 18-24 fps on my RTX 4070.

To fix, I set the resolution scale to 100%, and everything runs butter smooth at 4k now. I suspect the game was rendering everything at 8k. I don't even really know why this option even exists - the graphics didn't even look better, was just increasing the work load.

Also, the volume was quiet and I realized that the master volume was set to 50%. I fixed that and now it sounds level with everything else.

Very annoying default settings, but the game runs fine now for me.

200% Scaling is weird but I can respect 50% master volume.

So many games that boot up give me PTSD for audio until I can turn that ♥♥♥♥ down, haha.

Going to lose my eardrums IRL one day I boot a game.

I do think if it defaulted to 100% render scale that not nearly as many people would be complaining about performance.

Absolutely. I don't understand this default. I don't think it actually improves anything at high resolutions.

The option exists as a pseudo anti-aliasing for lower resolutions such as 1080p.
It is not relevant for native 2160p output.

They should definitely set this to 100% though in the full release. Even at 1080p at 100%, it's not that bad. The fact that it slowed my RTX 4070 to a crawl was actually kind of alarming on the defaults, especially for the graphics in this game. My card should handle anything at 60fps+ right now. Getting 18-24 fps was really alarming.
