If difficulty will be exacly as in the demo:
I was playing on normal, dungeons will be a breeze while bosses will be quite challanging. Boss in the mines required 5 tries for me to beat him and I've heard other ppl had problems with it (including SMT vets) in ~2h timed preview they got.
Keep in mind there are also many possible Archetypes combinations you can have in your party so it's not that easy to balance and your mileage may vary depending on your setup.
e.g Healer is strong in next dungeon
Mage provides additional explotations of enemy weaknesses
Warrior have perrty intresting synergy which you can find out in later levels.
Usually not too bad, but every now and then somebody at Atlus must release 1% of their boundless hatred for humanity and that shows up in certain bosses that I'd wager feel exactly like testicular torsion.
Hard is our highest difficulty as of now (regicide being the hardest) and HARD alone is harder than merciless etc from the persona games. Regicide is probably a hellscape and im looking forward to it.
I will say the game is bad at portraying difficulty, like the first optional dungeon you get access to is easily something you should approach at level 15-20, but you get access to it at level 8ish. and will easily get WHOOPED purely based off stats.
Devs should keep them challenging tho.
