Thought on the game so far?

I'm past the part when you unlock "Velvet Room" and unlocking the archetype sharing system

So far I like it. Even though some people complaining that this is just a persona reskin.
No, it's not although I can see the sentiment.
This game is more like Digital Devil Saga x Final Fantasy (huge amount of glossary too)

There's also changeable job/class system which is "new" to megaten formula, although I don't know how deep will this mechanic be, hope it will be more interesting instead of only assign a class to a party member and call it a day

My only issue if I have to really nitpick is the story, I know we've only play the initial part of the whole story here in the demo. But there's nothing new to be told here, aside from racial trait subversion (strong elf instead of magical elf)
Since this will be a long game, hope the dev will surprise us

Calling it now, they will pull something like Etrian Odyssey 1 ending, but instead of the world set in real world all along. It will be "instead, we are the Refantazio all along"

I'm really hoping for a similar twist and a sequel.

I'm reaching the end of the demo at about 6 hours in. My initial impression is that the combat design is really fun and improved from the Persona series. (Disclaimer: I've only played P3R ,P5R and Tokyo Mirage FE) Animation looks good but story and presentation are a bit underwhelming at least for the demo, but I can't judge those yet given only a subset of the contents are provided. The most annoying part is the special effects while running, it made my eyes feel really uncomfortable. If you only care about the combat and fighting mechanics you are likely to love this game. Character designs seem to be a mesh between Persona and SMT series. I never liked the new SMT designs so to me it's a bit of downgrade from Persona also the relationship building seems to be much more cheapened too if that's what you care about. Based solely on the demo I would personally rate it 8/10. It's a fun game to play but they have to fix the special effects that are giving me motion sickness. I can't get myself to buy it until that's fixed. I expect it is fixable!

Really happy so far with the game. I kinda get Dragon Quest 8 vibes from it, dunno why haha, but i like the whole twist on humans in the story and the theme of inequality and how its handeld in the world with diffirent tribes. Really interested to see where this is going in the full release. The battle system is so cool and fun and the artstyle OMG this game looks absolutly insane! Prettiest game i have seen this year.
