I wonder if maybe running as administrator would work for you?
Just a potato laptop here. The recommend settings the dev put on the steam (so I thought I'm still on safe area). But yeah, maybe mine wasn't good enough.

go to settings -> display -> graphics settings -> browse, and choose METAPHOR.exe (it's in program files x86 -> steam ->steamapps -> common ->metaphor demo), once you select the .exe, it should appear below. go to it's options, and select high performance. this worked for me so i hope it does for you too ^-^
