Which do you prefer? Japanese or English? They both seem pretty good. The accents for the English VOs are good and consistent, too. But I'm not the biggest fan of the fairy's voice in English.

I played only on English so far, and VAs did an amazing job. especially the fairy, her voice is so fitting, quiet yet with power. After playing until castle, i didn't cringe at en vo, unlike persona 3 and 5, so its good enough for me

Japanese. As impressed as I am with the English cast, something will always be missed by having to translate the dialogue and reconstruct the characters.

That's fair, but if you can't understand Japanese, it's moot because the English subtitles match the English voice lines.

I think the more Japanese you understand, the worse English subtitles with Japanese VO's are because you end up re-translating it in your head and have to contend with the difference between your interpretation and the translator's. But if you understand zero Japanese, I think you can read the subtitles to get the idea of what characters are saying, but the Japanese VO will be more accurate to the feel of it.
